Received this call today, but was not home, found it in my caller ID. Would be really nice if someone would do something about this, to many people are getting scammed, and it has got to stop. I am on the do not call list and my number is unlisted... This is not right.
Just received a call from 406-720-2099. No message left. Annoying. Put them on my blocked number list immediately.
we need to get the so called federal and state represenitives to pass alaw forbidding this on land phones and cell phones also.
I recognized this as a scam the moment I was connected with someone. I know full well that I can call my credit card company directly to have my rate lowered. If I could only get them to put me on their "Do-Not-Call" List! (Grrr!)
I received a call at 10:26, Feb. 8, 2011 from 406-720-2099 which identified themselves as a Credit Services company and that the rate will be expiring if I didn't call them.
Machine voice telling me everything is fine with my card but that I needed to talk with them (last chance!) to lower my rates. When I pressed the button to speak with a live person and told them that I had a do not call line, they hung up. is there a way to see them killed? I hope so! :-)
I got the call. He said he was calling for Visa and Mastercard. He asked if I would be interested in lowering my interest rate on my card, but first needed to see if I qualified. I asked what card? He said any Visa or Mastercard. He asked I am paying over 13%. I said, if you are calling for Visa, don't you already know what interest rate I have? When he asked if I owed more than $3000. Why is Visa asking my how much I owe? He got frustrated and hung up. I called the number back, and got a recording to allow me to be placed on the do not call list. They never asked for the card number. Next call will be to Visa.

Called and asked me to return call about a musical instrument that must be returned immediately. Got my name wrong as well. Scammers.

Got my name wrong, no where near close to the person they're trying to scam/contact. Call came from North Texas, left no company name, nothing. Shady asf, 888 area code is commonly used by scammers so this may not be legit.

Sent an email trying to encourage people to call Bank of America at this number. As phishing attempt go, this one was better than most. I can smell these things a mile away.
