I received a call on 7/14/15 from someone with a very heavy accent, telling me they have been notified that I have a problem and to log on and they will walk me through it. I hung up and they called back two more times. I didn't answer.
They are calling me 4 times per day; every day, the same bull. Indian, tech support for Windows; error on my computer. They will not stop!!! Also, calls from 201 351-7760 are the same.
The man calling first said he was from Microsoft home office. And I jumped in and said that he was going to tell me that my computer had a virus. Then he said, I'm not calling about your computer. I'm calling about your recent loan application. At that point I asked him why Microsoft would be interested in my loan application. He said he wasn't from Microsoft. I told him he was trying to run a scam, and I hung up. BTW, I have not recently applied for a loan.
They have been bugging me for weeks. This morning they told me if I do not download teamviewer now it will be too late...The guy with heavy indian accent got his supervisor on the phone but it was himself... This guy is not only criminal he is stupid. Roast slowly in hell you sad excuse for a human being.
I also received a call from 646-612-3456 from a woman identifying herself as "Amy" from Microsoft services department. Very thick Indian accent. She hung up when I told her to stop because I was not interested. FYI: I have also received calls from 209-542-2721 from various different voices and American sounding names but very thick Indian accents, also claiming to be from Microsoft. From what I have found out this is an on-going scam and this New York number is just one of them.
This SCAM has been going on for a long time. The first time I was on my computer and went to the location in the Windows Operating System they told me to go to, and sure enough there are reported errors. EVERY SYSTEM KEEPS A LOG OF SYSTEM ERRORS...Anyway, once they started asking for IP address and Passwords, I knew that no one from Microsoft would ask such a thing, and proceeded to hang up.I called the number back and received a message in both English and Spanish that the party was not available. I work for a Long Distance Telephone Company, and I am not sure this call really originated from New York. I believe the Caller ID has been SPOOFED. BE WARE...
I received a call today...same scam, "I am from Microsoft, we are getting messages you have a virus...blah, blah, blah" in a very thick accent. I told her the same thing I always do...I don't own a computer. lol...she hung up on me!! I don't know if it's always been the same number, but I have been getting these calls periodically for over 2 yrs.
I've been getting calls from this number - person on the other end has an accent so thick, I can't even begin to understand him, but last week it was an Indian woman and I hung up on her. My called ID says wireless caller.
