Yes, this number is to AES. They are a for-profit company handling student loans. Be forewarned! If you ever fall behind, they will threaten your life. At one point, a rep called me an F**** loser and B*** and said if he were me, he would have committed suicide a long time ago! I replied that I did not believe in suicide and he hung up on me after calling me a few more choice words, and said he would call the police on me if I didn't send them every penny I had. More than three hours later, they called my local police department and claimed I was suicidal! They are now claiming that I must purchase a $1mill. life insurance policy with them as sole beneficiary! If I made enough money to pay for a million dollar life insurance policy, I would simply send that amount to them and get them off my back. No question that I am a financial loser, but my life is still worth more than the $34000 in student loans! If AES wants me dead that bad, they will have to hire someone to make it look like an accident, because I don't believe in suicide! They have also said I need to sell my plasma and give them every penny, but after having been attacked by a special needs student who kicked me, pushed me into metal lockers - injuring my shoulder, and then biting me, I am no longer able to donate because I may have HIV or Hepatitis from the bite.

I also have AES loans. I've never once had a problem with them, and have always been on time with my payments. I did receive a letter, as did my references on my loan application, that they did not have valid/updated information on me. We did move about 4 years ago, but my address was updated. I guess it took them 4 years to realize that We changed our phone number too! I now only have a cell phone instead of a house phone so I'm very sketchy about giving it out. I was told by them though that by law, since it is a government loan, that they have to have m phone number. I reluctantly gave it, but I made sure to be on a list that I don't get the automatic calls that makes everyone crazy. You can call them and tell them to take your name off of it. That way an actual human being contacts you if there is ever a problem. Hope this helps.

You are over exaggerating yourself. First off, they would get fired if they told you that. Second off they do not call the police, they get stupid threats like that all the time. I think your depressed and you need help. Aes doesn't care if you make your payments or not. You retard! The bank pays them. If you don't pay you hurt yourself with credit and then the bank takes back the loan. Then your life is basically owned by the bank until you pay back there money. I got a call today. Recorded message said "we have an urgent call for" and went blank. I have no student loans.Makes me want to move to Washington State. Robo calls are illegal there. You get $500 if a machine calls you. The state prosecutes the companies.

Please, take a look at what you wrote and how you wrote it. This is why we do not like to talk on the phone with you people. If you cannot write English clearly, do you think you can speak it any better? When they hire some people from the US to work the phones, we will gladly answer the call; or at least someone with more than a remedial understanding of our language.

PHEAA is the parent company of AES and FedLoan Servicing. It's the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency. They are a nonprofit organization. They give millions of dollars in grants to PA students each year.

I beg to differ regarding your whitewashing of the "PHEAA Phules:" I am 67, have been a 160-percent disabled veteran since 1997, and have PAID OFF (and therefore NOT OWED!) any (ANY!!!) student loans since 1989.Despite this, those "PHEAA Phules" have recently been badgering me many times a day (I have the caller-ID logs) demanding $$$.Guess what: NOBODY can "Attach" a VA Disability Pension,despite what a "PHEAA Phule" had alleged in a threatening call.It's simply impossible to get money out of a malignant tumor, in any case.As I told the last two "PHEAA Phules:" I am dying. I get home hospice care. I have no living relatives. I have no assets. Nor have I any intentions of paying an unjust "debt." What can they do? Jail a wheelchair-ridden veteran who requires three liters of oxygen 24/7, who is on a couple dozen different medications every day, and who has also "Coded" three times in the past year?
