This is true. I have my student loans with them. I have never had anybody be nasty to me from there. But that doesn't say that they're not. They do call me on occasion to verify that I haven't moved so it is a legit company. Have a wonderful evening.
I am.in the same situation as you currently and that's all they are trying to do is help us by deferring payments or cutting payments down a bit to help ease the stress,they are legit and this is who my loans are from as well,glad someone else here understands what they are really about
It is 100% Great Lakes federal student loan company. I pay by phone all the time because online is way too complicated to figure out. I had an overdue payment and called in the payment the day they emailed me saying it was late and then got a call because the payment hadn't processed and the overdue phone call system crossed. Just called back the number and they said I was fine and to ignore the call. It is stupid but Great Lakes does not really mail paper bills, everything is pretty much electronic. I know it's weird to give out your ss over the phone like that but it is 10 times easierhen trying to figure out all the ridiculous 15 pass codes to access your account online. I have never had any security issues with them, I owe them over 3 grand, they have my social anyways.Looks like some people have some loans to catch up on...

If you have any student loans they just want to help. Don't ignore calls. If you don't trust the person on the line then call their main number and see if they called

Caller wanted personal information and claimed to be from some credit company that does not exist.

just got a call from 888-431-7820. Told me I was breach of contract. Very hard to understand the lady. I dont have a contract with anyone that I know of. When I look to see the number call it tells me Claim Services.
