I don't care who they are looking for. They have the wrong friggin number and I am SICK of being harrassed. I tell them everyday 3-6 times a day they have the wrong number. It is NOT my problem someone used my phone number for their stupid loan. STOP CALLING ME - I DO NOT HAVE A STUDENT LOAN. Next step police report, and law suit for harrassment.
So - If I don't have a student loan, am debt free, pay all my bills on time - then why are they calling me 6 times a day for an unknown person who does not live here? This organization is unscrupulous and will not stop calling me. Not everyone they call has defaulted on a student loan. Some of us actually are innocent victims of unstoppable phone calls at all hours of the day.
I had this 800 # come up on my new cell. I called the 800 # from a land line and the woman ask me to give my name and ss#. I refused! Then asked me for my name and phone #. I refused again! I did give her my cell # that they had called me on earlier so she could look up the name she was trying to call. She came back and gave me a name I had never heard of before. She said she would remove my # from their call list.... WE SHALL SEE !
Your response, IMO, is highly questionable! No student loans here! Just another scam that you could be part of!
i went to daymar institute i 2010 and i feel was charged way too much for a student loan. first it was one amount. than it was another. the fees fluctuated from one extreme to another. i would like daymar put under investigation for they have had compaints against them before some years ago.
The Student Loan program was taken over by the Federal Government. Great lakes is assigned to manage some of the loans along with several other companies. It is in you promissory note you have to make sure your servicer has your correct address and knows your in school. Not all schools participate in the national reporting system. So get a clue, Great Lakes wants to help you with your loans, because that is how they get paid. If you default it goes to collections, your wages are garnished and tax returns are intercepted. The government tracks you by your ssn. These are your student loans and it is up to you to manage them. Chance are the federal government owns your loan and they will get their money back. This is money people owe the federal government so others can go to school. If you do now know who they are calling for let them know and they can focus elsewhere!
Not everyone they call has a student loan - get a clue - they harrass anyone in the same vicinity or with the same last name in hopes you know or can help locating the person who has defaulted. I am not a collection agent nor do I get paind to hunt down the people they are looking for. Too bad I have a common last name because I get these calls for several different people who I DO NOT KNOWThis should be a crime. I have ZERO - repeat ZERO student loans and these creeps call me 5 times a week looking for someone with the same last name. This cr@p has to stop. Filled a BBB complaint against this company.
the phone number is from great lakes. I have a stuent loan from them and anyone who doesn't believe that's who it is or that they are legit, just type great lakes student loans in google and you will find their website with all the info to verify the really exist incluing the phone number in question. I have a $2000 student loan with them. They are irritating though when someone doesn't pay. I don't know if the pay someone to look up everyone who is in ur life that may be able to reach you through or what but they will call everyone trying to get to you if you owe them money.
