Just received a call from this number. No message left. After reading several message boards, I checked out bill... no balance, no weird charges.
Glad I found this post. Have AT&T and 9.99 charge for "Cool Walls" appeared on son's line from merchant called REDCIRCLE. Assumed he made a purchase, but he didn't remember doing so. Went to att.com/directbill and found it was for a monthly automatic-renewal subscription to MBLOX. Canceled immediately. Glad I found it in first billing cycle. Will definitely call AT&T tomorrow for refund. Also will add purchase block to all lines.
wait, you paid to be on the DNC? i didn't. but whatever, it Is a joke since Congress allows carriers to screw us over.
Don't tell people this is legit. I got a call from this number and I have Verizon. The guy on the other end accepted all my wrong answers as valid. Including the account number and pin. He played along because I said I needed to make a payment. I know full well what spoofing is I gave him all my CC info and changed the last 4 digits and ccv. We went back and forth several times because the card wouldn't go through. He asked for another payment form. So I continued on and gave him fake routing numbers. In the end I told him I know this is a scam and he responded with a hearty swath of curse words. He was very excited to have a fish on the hook and when he realized the roles were reversed he got really upset. I don't block these numbers and I'm the guy who screws with people like this. I also record these calls and play them for people to help others learn what this scam is and how it works. So please don't tell people this isn't a scam. We all know what spoofing is and if you don't you're the target they work so hard to exploit. For those reading this. If they call you out of the blue asking for account info be very aware of one fact. AT&T does not call customers asking for account information unless you initiated the inquest. Spoofing is very real and people do get scammed.
Called before 7a.! I did not answer, but when I called back (using *67) it was some recording spoofing AT&T. I am not a customer of AT&T nor have I been for at least 10 years. Scammer. : - (((
Call AT&T have them change the phone number and account number and explain that your a victim of a scam via spoofing. Ask for reimbursement. Also contact your local DA to go after they seller from the mall. Who ever that is sold your number to the scammers as soon as you walked away. Go back to the mall and be polite with that company with the pretense you want accessories for your phone. It's a good idea to get your phone and service from and authorized dealer that is brick and mortar. This sellers from kiosks abd back alley don't make enough to pay all the bills out of these spots. So they get approached from a big fish that wonder the countries malls and small shops looking for people willing to get extra cash doing things they believe are mildly illegal. The old thinking of a victimless crime. As to say they are scamming the fortune 500 company's.
Today I got 2 identical robocall voicemails from this number on my cell phone. The number showed in my call log. These calls went directly to voicemail without the phone ever ringing. Something about my ATT account being suspended. I don't have AT&T, so this is a scammer. I don't waste my time listening to their garbage, so don't know the exact detail of the scam. I am receiving calls normally, so this is one of those scam/telemarketer schemes where they try to bypass the DNC list, etc. by going direct to voicemail.
