I was checking my bank account and found a charge for $35.51, which was in the form of an electronic check from www.consumvoip.com. When I looked it up, it came up as an AT&T charge. I called this number, and talked to a woman who finally, after much delay, got a supervisor to speak to me. I could hear many voices in the background. I was told that I was not a customer, so they could not help me, and I should go to my bank. This man had a heavy Indian accent, and said his name was Albert. I went to the bank, and was told this sort of thing happens a lot. I signed an affidavit, and was told my money would be refunded within two days. He said somehow someone got the routing number on my check, and my info from a check, and forged the check. He said most of the time they got the numbers from a debit or credit bank card. He said I should check my account every day or two for awhile, and at the first sight of anything, I should let them know, and get a new account. If it is a "real" company you can still go to the bank and they may be able to help. Technically, I did not get a call from them, but this is the number on the check.

That's too funny that you paid your AT&T bill and then received call from that number. My husband called AT&T about an hour ago to find out if we have insurance on our phones. Turns out we don't but I just received 2 calls from this number which I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I have never received a call from this number. I wonder if there is some kind of computer glitch that dials on its own.

It's all about watching your bill and if take the time there are no hidden charges. Read your bill and stop assuming billing is 100 percent right. I have been with att forever and never had this issue and never had problem. People tell me to switch all the time I won't. They are not perfect by no means but they are a good company. My advice read your bill and monitor your children. As for anyone with an elderly parent, like me, I am a watch dog for my mom. People like to take advantage of the elderly. It can happen on a landline too.

Omg that happened to me. Changed my plan and seconds after getting off the phone with them I got a call from this number. Didn't answer and message left. If it was att the wild have left a message.

No ones kids EVER use the phone for anything but emergencies, right? Lol. "She's only 12"...12 is the new 21. Better pull your head out of the sand. ALL kids use their phones for anything and everything these days. And "FREE" will get those little fingers tapping faster than Fred and Gingers toes!
