800-331-0500 is an AT&T number AT&T says a phone number can show up the same but not really be theirs. This is a scam trying to get your pin and SS#. Total scam verified by AT&T. The caller said they were AT&T NOT

Got a call on my cell with a recorded voice saying that my AT&T account had been suspended (My cell phone is with another carrier). The recording asked me to enter the last 4 digits of the account holder's SS #. I did not do so and the call terminated. Interesting that this phone number does appear to belong to AT&T. I called them back on a different phone and reported it to the Fraud department.

Never answer numbers I don’t have saved so sent this call straight to voicemail. “If you’re an AT&T customer, your account has been suspended for verification. Press 1 to be transferred-“ and the message cut off. If it was really AT&T they wouldn’t say “*If* you’re an AT&T customer...” because they’d have my info on file. Total scam.

I got a call from (800) 331-0500. The caller was hard to understand, but said they were going to give a 30% discount on my next bill if I would consent to answering 4 questions. At the end, they asked for my name. I only gave my first name, no last name. They said they needed it to verify the account to get the discount. I said I was not comfortable giving that over the phone, I mean, I dont know who it is. The person said they already had the information. I replied "then why are you asking me for it". It seems to me if I'm taking part in a survey and they have called me from their customer list, they should know who they've called. Formality or not, it still sound fishy. People need to protect their information especially in this Global market. Information is everywhere. We should protect what we can, where ever we can. I'll be calling AT&T.

This number called me saying my service has been temporarily suspended for verification. They wanted me to hold for a customer service representative. I hung up and called someone to see but my phone is still on... Totally a scam.

It's not a scam! I chatted online with AT&T earlier about a problem with my bill and was disconnected from a rep who was trying to help me. Even though I rejoined the chat and another rep was able to help, the first rep called me at this number to make sure everything was ok and worked out. :)
