It is American Express Fraud Dept. making sure recent charges on your card are yours. Good Service. They were all my charges on the dates they said I charged. Don't block the number.

This number is customer service from AMEX. I checked by calling the number in the back of my AMEX card. They were trying to contact me to alert me to a transaction they had rejected. I confirmed that I had not made the transaction and they are sending me a new card with a different number. IT IS A LEGITIMATE AMEX NUMBER

I have an Amex corporate card. These "no message" calls have been happening 2-3 times a day, every day for 2 weeks now. After seeing the posts above, I called the number on the back of the card. They tell me this is indeed an Amex number and is in the personal card marketing dept. I do not have a personal Amex card - but apparently they would like me to have one...... I have been assured these calls will now STOP. We'll see.....

I have been receiving calls from this number several times a day for weeks. It comes up on caller ID as Am Expr Cust Sv. I do not now, nor have I ever had an AmEx card. I have stayed on the line and talked to a representative, who said they would remove my number. The calls stop for a couple of days, then start back up.

This is American Express. They had called about fraudulent use of my card and were reporting it to me. They had left a message on my answering machine to call them back. Although someone may spoof and use this number on the transmitted caller ID, I called back American Express with the 800-number on my credit card and got the reason they were calling ... Indeed, they had called. Therefore totally legitimate.
