Received text message from this # at 4am. Stating i had a fraud charge on my AMEX card. Funny thing, I dont have an AMEX card. I called the number, pressed "0", and the lady never announced herself as working for AMEX let alone the fraud department of AMEX. She asked for my SS#. I went on to tell her I did not have a card with them. She said that they needed the SS# to look up and see whats going on. I said i wouldnt give her my SS# and was willing to give her my street address. She immediately hung up on me. TOTAL SCAM!!!
i just called AMEX (the number on the back of my card) and they said it is legitimate. so dont worry....of course if i were you i would call myself because a phisher would post what i just did on this forum.. so call the number on the back of your card and hit 0 till u get customer service and give them that number
This is a complete fishing SCAMMMM! Do not call, respond, or communicate this number. Call the number on the back of your card. Simple... What is disheartening is there are posts back from 2013, (this being 2017) and these criminals haven't faced justice yet. Again don't be stupid call the number on the back of your card. Don't fall for the phoney testimonials. Think about it... This is a site to find out about suspicious numbers. Who would come to this site to report that a number wasn't fraudulent???
i received a call from this number friday night at 7pm. sounds PHISHY to me. so i called the number on the back of my card instead and the AMEX rep said there was no fraud alert on my card. so i think it's some type of scam. or so it seems.
You know, I think AmEx is getting ready to go out of business, merge, or file for help. I had an odd experience this morning, like many of you. Got an email from American Express, with a suspicious amount mentioned. I, too, got out my card and called the number on the back and was immediately sent to their fraud alert people. I asked for my balance, which is zero. He told me there were two attempts to use the card- by Gsi and Napster. I asked to cancel the card which was TREMENDOUSLY easy. no arguments..........very strange!!
Be careful with that number. It's a fraud. Also 3363931086 from which the message to call AMEX comes from. Do not type nor give your card number. If you did that, call the AMEX number in the back of your card to cancel the current card. Those fraudsters are highly sofisticated.
Got a sms text message:Amex Fraud Free Msg: Did you just try to charge 28.60 USD at FAN HQ? 1 if yes, 2 to call Amex. Text STOP to opt out. 18008249289.Only problem is I don't have an amex card. This was some kind of phishing scam.
I received an e-mail listing this number to call to verify an AMEX charge. I called the AMEX number on the back of my card and the e-amil was a legitimate fraud attempt but caught and denied by AMEX. Sounds like a legitimate number since AMEX has a record of the scenariop.
AMEX called me from this number and had me verify info they provided. I believe this to be legitimate.
