Got a call....don't have an AT&T account....didn't answer.

Get the calls about once every 2 weeks. I'm a Verizon wireless customer and never had an ATT account. I spent 20 mins on the phone with them about a month ago trying to get them to take me off whatever list they have.My Verizon contract IS expired (and I haven't renewed it yet, just paying the same amount waiting on better phones). Verizon also wants me to renew but I'm not ready at this time to lock into another couple of years.I find it hard to believe that ATT could find out if I was not in contract if they were trying some [***] backwards way of marketing to me...

We kept getting this call every morning at around 9:30 am (Eastern Time) leaving no ID, but a message to call back this phone number about some "very important information about" our account; finally we called back the phone number for the "important information about the account". They wouldn't give any info about the account, but wanted us to pay the bill with them. They asked a lot of questions, giving no info. Later, called AT&T directly from the ## on the bill, they had NO RECORD of ever having called the phone number, had no idea why anyone would call, the bill was NOT LATE. BE CAREFUL - THIS IS A CRIMINAL SCAM!!!!!!! GIVE NO INFORMATION!!! Call your phone company DIRECTLY from the phone number on your bill if you have ANY QUESTIONS.

Oh boy - I wanted the calls to stop so I played along - I do not have an AT&T accountAsked them again IS this AT&T? and gave them my SS# - DO NOT DO THIS ! The lady would not answer my questions & would keep placing me on hold - I could smell scam and then hung up.I filed a complaint & called them back and played stupid. I asked them why they had contacted me - they said it may be for some marketing purposes.File a complaint & get these cheesers to stop the madness!

I was receiving a call from 800-947-5096.She asked for my social secury number and I said nooooooooooooo.I don't have a wireless account with AT&T.

BAD ADVICE!!! DO NOT HEED!!!It is a scam. Do not give them your private info, especially a credit card. Make them send you a bill or tell them you'll pay at the office.

got a call to my cell this morning, no company name left, glad I looked this up before I called them back to tell them we don't make payments for anything when prompted by a phone all, we make them regularly online.

It sounds like a scam, i have never had a cingular or ATT account, so no need to pay them, but i wish they would stop calling and leave my voicemail alone

ITS NOT A SCAM. Sheesh people are so paranid. It's Cingular AKA AT&T calling to let you know your bill is due. They called me this morning, and that's fine because my bill is past due. If they've called you and you don't have an account, its an error on the behalf of their computer systems.
