im with at&t. why would cingular be calling me?

Incorrect. This is in fact AT&T. I have paid my late bill over the phone when they have called and immediately checked online to make sure it went through. Everything is legitimate. This is AT&T calling. If you don't answer they will leave you an automated message indicating you need to either call them or go online to make a payment to avoid interruption in service. I get a call from this number maybe 4 times a year...

FYI. ATT has been trying to collect on old unpaid bills. When I say old - I mean old. Like 21 years. They called a couple of months ago and I verified it was ATT by asking them to tell me my birthdate and prior address, and last current bill amount which they did correctly. When I asked the issue they said they were trying to collect an unpaid bill from an account tat was closed 21 years ago. The bill was for $1200 because interest for 21 years had added up to that amount. I asked them to supply me the billing detail and they said they would comply. When the bill came there was no detail but instead just a total due line. I called the number back and told them if they cannot produce the billing detail I was not going to pay the bill and I was in no way going to pay 21 years of interest because of their error. To make a long story short I didn't pay them and never heard another thing.I believe that if someone is calling you and demanding payment you should be suspicious.

Don't have an Cingular?At&t phone never have and never will. I have called and stated this several times and I am still being harassed. Don't give a D$$m about then and wish they would stop. I am really annoyed!!!

Miss former rep!!Maybe you can tell me a way to stop them from the harassing calls since I can't seem to get them to understand that I have never had their wireless service and don't care to be harassed about this issue. No one in my family has ever had their wireless service either. I am getting very perturbed with these calls. Any suggestions.

This IS NOT A SCAM. Repeat, this is NOT a SCAM.This is harassment for payment though. This call is likely if you missed a payment or are late (one day or more!).I got the call and was like, huh? I pay on time. Well, I didn't. I found the bill under a stack of billing to pay.So I was late. I didn't lose service but received call after call. Naggin, yes. SCAM, no.Do not call them but make sure you bill is paid first (if check, verify if it was deposited). Hey, I will never pay electronic as there are too many ways for scams, errors and abuse that way.

it's not a scam lol. it's an actual ATT agent.

Got a call from this number this morning. I ignored it and no message was left. Checked this site to learn that it was probably AT&T. I checked my account online and I am up to date on all payments. There was a message in my account inbox that I was eligible for an upgrade. Maybe that's why they called.
