Forgot to mention this has been going on for a couple of months now and if I try and call the number back from my blocked cellphone, the call cannot be completed as dialed.
Iv been getting these calls all week this is a new UNREGISTERED # and Iv had it only 2 weeks, so I decided to talk to a rep this time and the STUPID [***] hung up on me when I asked why I was getting these calls and I dont have a credit card....
SOME PROGRESS!!!! I called 1-888-878-1014 which is world class services. They claim to be a consultant in financial distress. For starters I decided to leave a couple really long messages on their answering machine at extension 5047. Then I decided that wasn't enough for me considering the length of time they had been calling us. So, I called back. I told their secretary how annoying it was to be called 3 times a day at all times of the day, then hung up. Then i called back again, mentioned how annoying it was to hear from telemarketers then hung up. Then I called back again asked her if it was annoying yet, then hung up. I called back again....( she was really annoyed by now... :D ) Told me she would get her boss to call me back. I waited 5 mins and called back, she expressed how annoyed she was with this harrassment, I replied with "Good". Then hung up. I waited about 5 mins and called back again, I was immediately connected to her supervisor, (Paul). After a long discussion about how they outsource the job of finding the ppl to help with debt and whatnot. And me telling him I live more than 2500 miles away from them. He told me he would email my number to his contacts and I would be removed from their list. I will probably have about triple the telemarketing calls tomorrow, but at least I can harass them back in my own way since the DNCL is USELESS. I recommend just calling this company back a few times, they seem to get annoyed when given a taste of their own medicine. However I will be emailing the CRTC about the DNCL. ALSO, remember that with the internet at hand you CAN track down those annoying numbers and trace them back to the source, you may not find the autodialer, but you will find the company it's hooked to eventually. CALL THEM! WE NEED YOUR HELP TO STOP THEM!I will post back on my results.
I've been recieving calls from this number for over a week now and now I'm getting them very early in the morning or rather late at night. So much for the do not call list...They should have some kind of systeme where when you report a number it cannot be used after investigating shows that they are fraudulent...
Thanks, burnttimber for the website www.worldclassservices.org/about.php I went to the site, got the number and called it, and when Tia answered, I said "Tia! I've been reading about you on the internet...!" She was quite taken aback, and then I told her I was getting nuisance calls and I expected them to stop. I gave her our number, and now we'll wait and see what happens....
Much the same as others have remarked upon. Exactly the same number, same pre-recorded message, same 'press 1 to speak to a representative', same hang up if inquired about who they are, and if called back, same offer to be placed on their do not call list. The do not call list option is a ruse - I recieve more calls than ever before; 6-10 per week on average. My own telephone company, Telus, claims there is nothing they can do to stop it.
Good work, Edisse! I'm pretty much at the point of cancelling my phone, but that means they win. I appreciate the info regarding the 'World Class Services'. I am on a temporary leave of absence from work, and have nothing but time on my hands to reach out and touch these harrasers any way I can!!
Look at this: 6 pages of posts 90% complaining (me too)... some try to do something. How about everyone does the same thing of the sorts of flooding the legal address of the company with nasty letters or emails. Or everyone calling the company at different times. Hit them where it hurts!
Like everyone else here, I've been receiving calls from these guys for some time now. I decided to string them along in hopes they would get tired of me and remove me from their call list - pressing 3 does not work. The first time, I pretended I thought they were offering me a credit card - they hung up. The next time, yesterday, I feigned a real interest in lowering my credit card rate. After the first flunky got through the preliminary validation questions, they passed me to their master closer - they had a real live one on the line now. She explained again what they were offering (a guaranteed saving of $2500) and what they needed (to verify my account was in good standing and not near or over the limit.) Of course, to do that, they needed my credit card numbers(I told them I had two cards) and the CV numbers. Then they would contact my credit card company and have the rate reduced. After I stretched it out as long as I thought I could without them hanging up on me, I informed her that I had recorded the call and would be filing a police report. She then tried to assure me that no can make a charge on my card without my voice permission and that they are not fraudsters - that they follow the do not call list and are responsible. I told her that I am on the DCL and that I pressed 3 several times and that I believed they are scammers. She then mumbled something and hung-up. Further research of these people indicated that the scam is they attempt to lower your rate with your credit card company (but of course that fails) and then apply a large fee against your credit card for their services. That is why you cannot be near or at your limit to "qualify" to be ripped off. I plan to waste their time every time they call. It's kind of good adlib practice. Just have to be careful not to reveal any real details while still making everything believable. Have fun with these guys.
