it took a month to make them stop calling me. all i did is never answer. if this was "capital one" the caller id should of showed instead of the phone number. Jeez these people saying it's capital one, well it's not real. they called me like twice a day everyday including weekends, thought they don't call on sundays. I don't even have a bank account, any credit card, or a job.
I'm about to file bankruptcy after losing my job, so my phone is ringing off the hook from the people I owe money to. I added each of the numbers to a single contact "D. C." (Debt Collectors). My phone allows me to give each number under a contact a custom description (e.g. Mobile, Home, or Capital 1) I then assigned this contact a silent ringtone and removed vibrate. I can now easily ignore any debt collector calls and still know who I've missed. Hope this is helpful for ya!
Call from Florida, VM said it was Linda calling about an important business solutions regarding capital one. "Linda" left a number of 866-953-7906. I returned the call, and Capital One answered the call, but I didn't have to push any numbers or anything. I was on hold for a small amount of time when a person answered, whom I could barely hear. When I told the person that I couldn't hear her, she told me my phone was bad. When I finally could hear her, she told me she needed my full capital one account number. I told her I wasn't able to give her that information and that she wouldn't need it because she was from the company who called me. She then told me she would need my full social security number. I told her she couldn't have that either. She told me to call back when I was prepared to give them the information they required. I reminded her that they called me, in fact they had called several times. She then told me that my account was severely past due (it is not, I missed one payment last month) and they will continue to call until I make the payments. I told her that they will not continue to call me because my account is not past due. She then began yelling at me, so I hung up the phone. I do not believe this was Capital One. They would not need this information, they would need simple information to verify who I am and look up my account and explain why they were calling.
These harassing jerkoffs called my mobile and left the same recorded voicemail for almost 20 days straight. I have reported the numbers and they are blocked and spam-listed. Now they seemed to have switched off to a new number in Virginia. They claim to be Capital One, but I know this is a phishing scam to get credit card numbers. Hope they die horrible deaths.
Asking companies verbal to stop calling doesn't usually work. Only a rare few companies will actually honor a verbal request. You have to put your request in writing. It's what's commonly know as a Cease & Desist letter.Nothing complicated. Just write a few lines saying that you want Capital One, and any of their affiliated companies, partners or vendors, to IMMEDIATELY "Cease and Desist" from calling about the account.Makes sure you sign and date the letter, and have your account on it.Also make sure you send it registered or certified mail. That way they can't deny receiving the request. You can also forward a copy of the letter to them via email, or the messages center when you log onto your account online. While some companies accept Cease & Desist requests via email/message, it is always best to mail it to them to, and keep copies of it, mail receipts and package acceptance confirmation numbers,
Got a call from this number about 2pm CSRs. It is a super shady voicemail with a lady named "Linda" in the message. I called the number back and got a Voice telling me to input my cc card number. I said eff that and hung up. I owe them money but not until next month according to my account online. Probably a good scammer. If you owe money and are not current on your bill, call the number on the back of your card to make arrangements or ask about this number from "Linda". Otherwise I wouldn't worry too much.
They call leave no message. My caller id says charles showers from Tampa Florida. I have a card with capital one. If they want me to answer it best show capital one.
It's Capital One, just call then back and ask to be up on the do not call list, very nice people to talk to actually.
