This number is being used by scammers that are using Caller id spoofing similar to that available at spoofcard.comThe "linda offers" calls you guys are really recieving are not part of capital one at all, rather some unidentified anonymous entity wishing to steal information using Caller ID spoofing techniques.

It's a capital one direct to telemarketing number. It's probably linked to your mobile number any other other phone number you have given someone. Don't give your info out; it's likely a phishing scheme if your credit is fine.

This is a scam. Capitol One Scam with pretenders. Do not try to talk to them or answer them. I just let them go to the voicemail and flush their call out from time to time.

have revived 6 calls a day from them for the last 3 day. and they leave messages telling me i can sign up or qualify for there card. I don't want it or need it. i am registered on a national do not call list apparently this means [***].

You should not trust caller ID or the number displayed. Both can be faked. Also, the last 4 digits of your credit card, or of your SS#, are often used in return emails to verify that you bought something, or that your order is on the way, or to acknowledge a legitimate request you made to a state/local/federal agency. Those emails, complete with your name, phone, and those 4 digits, have been stolen and sold many times. All of us should assume that those digits are available to the international internet community of thieves ... because they are. These people are not leaving messages because they are not Capitol One. They are trying to get one piece of information from you so they can create an identity under your name ... or gain control of your credit card. It's simple social engineering combined with electronic theft. If Capitol One has any kind of problem and wants to reach you, they will leave a message and a callback number. So just let the phone ring and let voicemail do its job.

Next step is to write them to stop calling you. Be honest about not being able to pay--who is these days? Legally they have to stop calling you. If they do not...cool. You get to record all the times they call you, take it to the courts and get $1,000 PER infraction. AND if they say anything regard court (threating to take you) that's an infraction as well. If they fail to confirm that they are talking to you (such as if you don't admit that you're you and they start talking to you), that's an infraction. You might be able to catch them enough times to PAY your debt. Good luck.
