It just happened today where they called multiple time and annoyed the crap out of my wife, it is a phising phone to get your credit card number, which i don't even have one since I Don't even have one of their credit cards.

If you recently changed your number, they are probably calling for someone who owes money who used to have your number. Or, someone signed up for a credit card using YOUR number, and probably stopped making their payments :) I answered, told the guy he had the wrong number, and he politely apologized and stated he would have my number removed from their records within 24 hours. Stop being babies and just freaking answer your phone and tell them they have the wrong number, it's not that hard.

Orrrrr freakin answer your phone and tell them they have the wrong number if you don't owe money. but yah, either way quit whining. I told them they had the wrong #, and they apologized and promised to take me off their calling list. NOT HARD.

I am getting calls from several strange numbers, each ends up being Capital One. Idiots think this will fool anyone?

Keeps calling up to 8 times a day, rings 1-3 times as soon as I pick up they hang up. The first call I got from these guys i heard d auto talk & presses * & # sometimes that is like one the options to press just like when they say press 1 for whatever it's just they don't mention it of course but that works for me most times it's an option button for hanging up. '

I just read a number of the following messages and some people say is IS Capital One. I dialed the number and got a legitimate sounding man's voice answer identifying the number as Capital One and asking for my 16-digit account number. THIS IS A SCAM to get your number!

I have a Capital One Credit Card. I called the 813-274-1837 and heard the message asking for "your 16 digit account number". Then I called the customer service number on the back of my credit card (800-955-7070) and heard the same voice asking for the same information. I believe this is legit.

capital one has been bothering me day AND night, sometimes 3x a day. fuckn [***] stole money out of my bank with a fake ACH payment. i've had to close my account and open a new one at a new bank. i thought as long as i was making the payments, double the minimum btw, they would leave me the hell alone. but no. i answered it once before looking at the caller ID, which has always identified the number as being from capOne. i had to act like i was my brother, telling the caller that * was in the hospital. ya'd think they would get the message and stop calling. not these [***]. finally, i've put their number in my call rejection/no solicitation list. but because they use a different extension, iow, switching numbers on me, it does nothing to deter these sob's. btw, the number i show as being from capOne is 813-274-1837.
