Got a message for 817-688-7858 that my VISA debt card was about to be cancelled--I have no VISA debt card. SCAM!
Same phone number claiming to be from Coors Credit Union stating my debit/atm card had been stolen and to press 1 to reactivate the card.. uhhmm, if it was stolen, why would I reactivate it in the first place - second, I've never had an account w/ Coors Credit Union. The call came in on my cell phone.
Here's what to do when you get the call.Just hang up.Then call ATT at 800-331-0500 during regular business hours and when prompted to enter your wireless phone number enter 817-688-7853 (assuming this is the cell number that called you). Speak to a customer representative and let them know that the owner of this cell phone account is using their services fraudulently, I believe phishing is illegal, and you just wanted to let them know.PLEASE, do not abuse the customer service help, thank you. They are just like you and I, so be kind.If you can't wait, you can contact ATT at their 24/7 technical support call center. Use the same 817 cell phone number when prompted and speak to their customer service.Repeat, BE KIND! If you're steamed, vent appropriately. The pathetic excuse behind this is not the same person on the phone with you - unless you're a better sleuth than I am.This effort is simply to EMPOWER you if you wish to take appropriate action, in this case being a bit-o-thorn in the call logs of ATT (in Fort Worth Texas) so they hurry and close this pathetic loser down. What a waste of creativity - why don't they get that?
Just got the "Coors Credit Union call today on my cell. Number was blocked. Wife got one too. We live in the Denver metro area and cells are on AT&T network. Called AT&T and complained. They told me that if the number is blocked on my cell, it is blocked to them as well. I wonder if the authorities cared about this, could they determine the origin of the robocaller???
robocall: "Hello. We regret to inform you your - VISA - card has been deactivated due to fraud. If you wish to reactivate your card press 1 now."
i'm in denver, too, and i started getting calls from this number a couple of days ago. i haven't picked up any of them. next time i think i will, just to mess with them. ;)
Received call asking if I wanted to be transferred to a supervisor, as there was a problem w/ my bank card. My bank card is in perfect order because I checked this morning with a personal visit to the bank. These scammers need to be caught & prosecuted if they commit fraud.
Got a call from this number at 3:30 am. Didn't answer it in time. But when I tried calling it back it just states it's not a valid number.
If you look back at the history of this phone number it has been going on since March. I just received a phone call this week in Mid June. Where are the authorites or Visa trying to shut this thing down. What is wrong with our government. The phone number is a Ft. Worth, Texas phone number. Who is responsible for shutting this thing down. WTF!
