This is the Community Alert system used by many municipalities. Unfortunately my town goes a little hog wild every time it snows to tell you a) there's a parking ban, b) the parking ban has been lifted, c) the parking ban is in effect for downtown for special plowing, d) the parking ban is again lifted. We also get the outside watering bans in the summer. Blah, blah, blah. It's annoying as all get out to get four, five, six calls per storm when I don't live anywhere near downtown and wouldn't be out between 2am and 6am, but the alternative is to take me off the list altogether, and I'd like to know if there's a watering ban. So I put up with it. The problem for me is the the caller ID doesn't always register as Community Alert so I just accidentally blocked it and then had to figure out how to unblock it. Whatever. It's a legit call.
I'm in a rural part of Texas. I received multiple calls from this number on Friday, 4 calls in 8 minutes. The caller ID said unknown name. I have received Code Red calls from our Sheriff's department, and caller ID reads Code Red when they call. I did not answer.
I received 2 calls....The first I answered and no one said anything. The second call was an actual code red alert about a young man near Wal Mart and the Parents have been contacted. That's all that was said. The bad thing is they called late at night around 10:30 to 11:00 pm. If it is legit I don't mind them calling late.Oct 3, 2017
Hard to believe that some reports say that this is a legitimate number Beautiful day hardly a cloud in the sky Although some reports are of legitimate events Who knows
It is 12:05 AM at night I'm tired of these calls my kids and grandkids all have different times to get off from working at night i put my number on no call list and i am getting more now than before.
This is an emergency "code red" notification from you local sheriff's office. You most likely signed up for notification if there is any natural diasaster, or immediate safety threat. The message I just received was about a possible missing person.
Call came from ECN COMMUNITY - 855-969-4636 on 08/15/12 @ 09:34 PM robbery at local restaurant, described suspect as a black man about 5', 11" tall and weighing about 160 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt, dark sunglasses, a ball cap, jeans and black shoes who entered the business with a white towel covering his face, armed with a handgun, police department seeking help, etc.In Topeka, Kansas, if your phone number is listed you are on their calling list. The incident that triggered this call, (excerpt copied from article posted in the local news paper at 6:27pm) "Topeka police officers responded about 5:20 p.m. to Domino’s Pizza, 735 S.W. Topeka Blvd., on a report of a robbery and sexual assault ... Anyone with information may contact Detective Karim Hazim at 368-9408 or Crime Stoppers at 234-0007."The incident occurred at 5:20pm It was reported in the online version of the local paper at 6:27pm.The call from ECM to our answering machine was at 9:34pm. This system is really efficient at getting critical information to the public in case of emergencies according to our local law enforcement. A four hour delay is NOT efficient.
