Interesting. People look things up because they want to know more or because they simply don't know. Yet you knew everything there is to know about this phone number but looked it up anyway. Now why would you do that?
Your counties have automatic code red alert calls if your numbers are listed in the local books. If you have a cell phone usually you have to sign up for the code red alerts. There is a way to unsubscribe.
This is a legitimate number. I was called with information about power outages in my town due to a very a heavy snow storm with many trees down. It stated that the town police station community room is open for those who need a warm place to stay and warned people to be aware of falling trees (a child was killed by one yesterday). It also gave a number to call if you were without power. You should answer these calls.
April 20, 2011 I got a call from 1-866-419-500 at 3:39 AM saying it was from code Call Back RED ALERT and from the North Miami Beach Department about a child missing. What the hell is going on in the middle of the night. I tried calling the North Miami Beach Department, but because of the insane hour, nobody answered. This has just screwed up my sleep and accomplishes nothing, This system should be banned! This has got to be some kind of a scam.
My calls come from Trenton, NJ. The idiots call about anything, mostly to remind residents not to take out the garbage on Holidays even though there is no garbage collection scheduled for the days they call.I have asked them many times to remove my number but my requests have been ignored (I guess someone needs a justification to remain under the City's payroll). I have blocked the number.
