* SCAM ALERT* - *SCAM ALERT* - *SCAM ALERT* - This is DEFINITELY a scam call! I'm kind of wondering about the few people on here that said it's an actual official Code Red call. They must work for this scam company and wanted to make it appear legit. If this is REALLY a code red service number, they would leave only ONE message and not keep calling and hanging up 10 X a day, for weeks, upon weeks, upon months. Plus is would appear in my area code. Not some area code that's thousands of miles away. lol. When I finally answered the call from this number to get to the bottom of who felt the need to call me every hour, on the hour, every day, then hang up, it was someone trying to scam me to get my personal information & Social Security number. They mumbled something about Medicaid. I'm not on any government assistance. I work every day. I'm definitely not on, or do I want to be on Medicaid. Never applied for it. They said I applied for Medicaid and needed to confirm my SS#. Ha ha. Yeah right. I told them that I didn't and if I did apply for anything, then they should have my personal info. right there in front of them. They stuttered, & stumbled and got very quiet. lol. I hung up then blocked their number. Definitely a scam to get SS# and any other personal info they can sucker a person out of. Don't give them any info. Block their number.Remember that a REAL code red will not be harassing you on the phone. Calling and hanging up numerous times each day, then trying to scam you out of your personal info. Please everyone. Don't enable these scammers. Either just don't answer their call or block them.

I agree that the "Code Red" is a scam. I too received a call today from these miscreants. Perhaps some who legitimized it were confusing it with "Smart911."
This is a Code Red automated calling service - my small town uses it to pass automated alerts - in this case an overturned propane truck in a busy intersection in town and warning me to expect delays...
I live in Wyoming. This number 855-969-4636 started calling me at about 5:45 pm April 29th. I didn;t answer it and it called a second time about 5 minutes later, Again, I didn't answer. This happened 3 more times, every five minutes, and getting fairly annoyed that they were so persistent, on the 6th call, I finally picked up the phone to see what could be so urgent, and it was a RECORDING-telling me that this was somebody from the local Sherriff's Department--calling to let people know that they were having a Drug Drive in the parking lot of one of the local supermarkets and in front of another local supermarket in the neighboring community about forty miles from here. He said we should all gather up all our unused drugs and left-over or out-dated prescriptions or anything else you felt might be a danger in your home, and bring them to those two designated drop-offs, and there would be someone from the Sherriff's Department that would be happy to take this stuff off your hands. But I can't remember what day it is supposed to be.
Based on my recent call and what everyone else has written, ECN is a company used by several cities for mass message disbursement. In my case, I, (and presumably everyone that signed up for this reverse calling system in my city) received a voice message wishing us a happy 4th, with details on where citizens could enjoy the fireworks display on the 4th. No scam; just information.
This number called my home phone. ECN Community was what my caller id displayed. I didn't answer because I didn't know what that is. So, I Googled the number and found all of these comments about it being a code red emergency calling service. One person mentioned in their comment that you can call the number and hear what the emergency message is. If you don't call the number using the phone that received the call, then it gives you the option to put in the number that the call was made to. I called it back on my cell and put my home number in and the message was for customers of the water company letting them know that they needed to boil their water or use bottled water until further notice because there was a water line that busted or something like that. I have well water so the message didn't apply to me. It is a legitimate code red calling service because my kids got out of school early today because of this problem with the water. It affected the water in at least 2 schools in the district. So, not a scam!
