I have had the same experience with the cabin kit and that they had overstrock of one hundred model and need to get rid of them. I am also suspicous of this. I today market NO E-MAIL OR PICTURES AND IT YOU COULD NEVER GET THEM DIRECT. What is going on? Do anyone know? the Telephone number that appears is (870-577-5757) In all the same ad and $1800.00 to haul to Dathon Alabama.
what did the package contain? Cabin plans or what.Is there any truth to the selling of log cabin that your friend received of documentations.
I am the owner of Gastineau Log Homes. We recently had a person contact us saying that he was told that these were kits from my company. We do NOT know this company nor have they ever bought any materials from us. We are the worlds largest producer of Oak log homes and are located in Missouri. We assume they are using our name because of our reputation. We have been in business since 1977. I would advise you to NEVER buy logs from someone who operates business in the manner of Summit Construction. Your logs are the basis of the quality of your home. Do not be tricked into something that is obviously such a ruse. A home is much too large of an investment and you will only be sorry later. Again, Gastineau Log Homes has NOTHING to do with these people!
Dave I also live in Canon City. Did the 4x8 logs meet code. Would like to see your completed structure. Please give me a call FL cell phone number 386 2900426. Thanks Joe
I called this ad last night as a result of seeing it over and over in the local Thrifty Nickel. I thought having a cabin on a property I own would be a good idea because it's in a good hunting area. When I got the message that the voice-mail was full and to leave my call-back number, that's what I did. Later, on a whim, I decided to Google the phone number. I'm glad I did because I came across this board. Now that I've read what several of you have to say, I'm going to call the local office of the Thrifty Nickel on Monday, not that I think that will do any good, and ask them to pull the ad. If they don't, I'll keep going, first with the local Sheriff, then the county D.A., and if I have to, the state Attorney General.Scamming folks out of their hard-earned money is just not right. This should not be allowed.
I didn't wait until Monday like I said in a reply above. I wrote the following to my county sheriff:"Dear Sheriff __________:"In last week's and this week's issues of the local Thrifty Nickel, page 6 on 5/26, there is an advertisement from someone selling a log cabin for a huge loss because of an impending move. I've seen the ad over and over for several weeks now, and since I have a piece of property in __________ County in need of a hunting cabin, I was interested and called the number, which is (870)577-5757. There was a message saying the mailbox is full and a request to leave a call-back number. I left my cell phone number."I became curious later and did an internet search on that phone number and came up with a site/board where folks were asking the same kinds of questions that came to my mind, such as, where is the number/business located, who is responsible for the ad, why does it run over and over, etc?"Folks on the board all felt this was a scam, too, some saying they had spoken to a woman with an Asian accent and once to a Mr. Ryan. The man and woman both wanted the peoples' mail address to "send pamphlets" and other material. They claimed they had no website or email address. One person said the woman said they were traveling when he called them."Would someone in your office please look in to this and let me know what is going on? You would be doing many folks a great service by finding out what is behind this, and, if it comes to no good, getting the ad pulled from all Thrifty Nickel editions."I'll post what information I get back from the local Sheriff.
I saw the same ad, but in the Lucedale, MS Thifty Nickel. And the phone number us 870-221-1150. I called and talked to Dan Ryan, said he was the owner of "Gateway Construction" and that these cabins had been ordered for a developer in Branson MIssouri and the developer went bankrupt so he was selling all of the kits. It sounded really goo. Glad I read this.... I was planning a trip to Arkansas as the number is out of Marshall Arkansas.
Hi. Is there any way you can send me pictures of your finished Log Cabin kits project? We also bought some of Dan Ryan's log cabin kits, but we have not built any of them yet. We bought 24x24 and 32x28. Can you please send us pictures of the different stages of your project. We really would like to see a finished product. Thank you. My email address is: ngervin00@yahoo.com
