Called my phone several times, calling someone that is not me, they mumble something about a service call (I think...Since they mumble)!
I have the same issue. They keep calling for someone else I do t even know and its a everyday thing.. From really early in the morning to late at night.. I done called four times and told them to remove me number and they still haven't done it! Its harassment a and they don't even speak good english! Stupid foreigners!
I keep getting phone call after phone call from these people for someone I don't even know and done told then four different times to remove my number and stop calling me!!! For one they could hrdly speak English and two they are rude as h*ll! They told me I should change my number. I haven't cussed them out because they might sell my number to other people.
This I'd a debt collection company calling on behalf of the student loan companies. That letter stated to that they are be taped is illegal and can get the person who is writing the letter in trouble, because it is illegal to tape someone without their knowledge.
Called the number back and kept pressing 0 until 'Rachel' answered. I told her I had no loans ever . She checked the database and couldn't find any of my numbers, even though they were calling me. I suggested that perhaps someone was faking caller ID of their number for a scam. She put me on hold again, returning to state that my number had been found in a 'master file' and would be removed in 24-48 hours. I stated that if I received more calls after 2 days I would report to FCC & AG.
Sallie Mae sold my account to Navient. Navient only calls me when past due by a payment but does not return my calls nor reply to emails when I need their assistance. They would obviously rather harrass me.
just so you know Navient has taken over most of the Sallie Mae accounts if you still trying to pay back your student loans as well as your childs parent plus loans for the past 15 years or more.When you do get through to NAVIENT by phone, you have reached the call center in the Philippines NOT U.S. Always the phone rep does not know how to help you and will not transfer to to the department who is working on request for forbearance or hardship deferment, etc. But in the mean time they can continue to harass you.
Yes, this number is both Sallie Mae and Navient, but I have to add (because i work for an attorney) if you have kids, or even you, who are in default with a student loan and have not responded to them, they DO have a right to contact you about your loan. What you consider harrassment may not be what the law considers it. My son was not making his payments, and they called me lots of times, but never before 8am or after 5pm. I would just pass the message on. I hate telemarketers and call center operators, but this is a valid action and they're just doing their job. if you have a student loan in default, it's way better to go ahead and communicate with them than to just keep not answering your phone...it will screw up your credit.
