Sallie Mae has been outsourcing their customer service for several years. Ask to speak to an on-shore /state-side supervisor - which sometimes they refuse or put you through the ringer to get someone from the States. One time I was on the phone with them and heard them all greet "good-morning" and it was about 4pm CMT.I am currently UNEMPLOYED and have more then once thanked them for taking Americans jobs. BTW - I am pretty sure Sallie Mae if federally subsidized - so WHY are we oulsourcing?

I had to turn off my answering machine because they are really the only ones calling me. They call about every 75 minutes. So, then I unplugged the phone cause I got tired of hearing the phone ring and knowing it was just them. I can't believe they can call that much.

I received a call from Sallie Mae. This was an automated call asking for a co worker of mine. The automated call wanted me to place the call on hold while I located the co-worker. Also asked me to enter the last four digits of my social security number. Did not provide my social and hung up. I redialed the number which showed up on caller ID to see if this was a legit call. Call was answered by another automated system once again asking for my account number or social security number.

Received a call from this number at 8:33 AM. Woman with a foreign accent asked for some person who's name she had difficulty pronouncing. She did not identify her company. I told her I had never heard of this person and she politely said she would remove my number from their listing. We'll see.

Don't know who is calling. No one leaves a message.

Careful.. they told me online and over the phone ( I called them 4 times to verify that my loans were in defferement for 6 mths following graduation) I did not owe anything also. Turns out I owed on a private Sallie Mae private loan. I received a letter and responded to the letter asking for defferment on that private sallie mae loan and they sent it to collections... Once my defferement was up I kept getting bills saying I owed the nxt month so we were late on 2 mths bills seperately because they admitted to billing statement issues but said it was my problem...

called 4 times within 1/2 hour didn't leave a message couldn't answer bc at work ... the number is for sallie mae

THEY CALL AND WILL NOT LEAVE MESSAGES THEY HANG UP ON YOU WITHOUT STATING WHO THEY ARE. VERY DISRESPECTFUL!!!!
