Got a call from this number wanting information.

They called at 8 AM but when i go to sleep I shut the ringer offmy kids call on my cell phoneI never answer if it isn't from my area codeThey call again and againthe price we pay for advanced technology

Was called by this number last night. Left a very general message and a number to call back. As soon as the 888-819-2135 picks up, they ask for your account #. I cannot think of any situation where it would be a good idea to call a number back and give out that number or any personal info at all. ALWAYS only use the number on the back of your card. Who knows whether to trust this phone number or not, so better off protect yourself and not give out any info. No downside to that, right?

DON'T CALL BACK THIS NUMBER, CALL BACK THE REAL AMERICAN EXPRESS (on back of your credit card or via their website) IF YOU ARE UNCERTAIN. These scammers are still in business. I called American Express using the phone number on the back of my card and said that there was no reason for the call and that they use written letters anyway (unless you asked them to call you.)

This is 5 years ago - what happened? I JUST got a call from the same # are they still at it?

Confirmed with American express that they will not call people that have accounts in this manner. Do not give any info to these people. It is also a number that is not recognized by American Express. It is a scam, confirmed.

This number calls me and doesn't say anything even when I call....Helloooo...I know they are trying to scam me but I"d like to have a person on the other end so I can tell them to f off. Not like reporting this is going to do any good...you morons are just as bad as the scammers.

This number is legit. Its for American Express High Balance collections. And FYI, they do not have a there's phone number look up. They can look you up by full account number, full social, or a combination of first and last name and social (which does take a minute or two so be patient) all of you who are saying this is a scam are idiots, and are probably being called because you didn't pay your bill.

This number calls me twice a day, every day. Sometimes leaves a message, sometimes not. The message says they are american express about an urgent matter but it is not the telemarketing division. I called the number on my card and they first told me it was a misdirected call and to ignore it. The second time they told me they needed to update my information. I continue to get the calls but I never answer them and I never call back.
