Why do telemarketers call us...to sell us something...but if they make us really angry and we do not want these calls, why do they do it? What makes them think we will uy if they make us angry? It's just not going to happen...is there somekind of intelligence breakdown?Dear Rick,You are wasting my time calling me. I do not want your stupid product and now that you have disturbed my homelife, I will never purchase anything from you ever. You are a moron. You are wasting your time.
I teach a 5 day professional home staging and redesign course in Canada. I have been teaching for 6 years now. I have had many unhappy students from Haverhill take my course. I don't believe in dissing anyone in this business but do recognize that they did make promises, to those I personally talked with, that they did not keep. Do your research and make sure the course is what you are looking for, and that there is great support after the course. Check me out at www.PresStaging.com.
I saw that so called good work you do in the teleclass examples.....please it was pitiful.........and by the way you should 'turn all the lights on' in your examples as you tell us to do. This is a middle school course that is so subjective the teacher passes who she wants to pass.
Oh my Goodness! I can not believe a site like this exists! Whoever the disgruntled bloggers are, you clearly have not been informed properly!BUYERS BEWARE – READ ALL THE MATERIAL BEFORE YOU PURCHASE!Here is my two cents (for what it is worth)FIRST – if you are not able to pass the course, perhaps you should reconsider venturing down this avenue. You either have an eye for design or you don’t. You can not learn creativity – you are born with it.SECOND – the books that you are given, I agree are basic at best, however, to my aforementioned statement, you either have it or you don’t. If you can’t make sense of the material and create a good looking “after photo” of a room, you aren’t going to do well in this profession regardless of where you took this course or not.THIRD – If you had read all the material, taken part in the telecourse and had an interview with Haverhill, you would know about the refund for the course cost. For those of you who like to jump the gun and get all fired up without being informed correctly, here’s the real deal when it comes to refunds… The employment guarantee only applies if you PASS the home study section, participate in the teleclass, PASS the exam AND have a successful interview with Haverhill all within the time allotted to you by Haverhill (I think it is between 4 and 6 months?). It states that if there aren’t employment opportunities to be had in your area you will then be offered a full refund. Possible reasons for not offering employment could be: there are too many stagers in your area or there isn’t a need for stager in your area – based on simple supply and demand principles. If you DO NOT PASS the course or complete the material outside of the time allotment (regardless of your marks), Haverhill has no obligation to offer you a refund or employment. People, please understand that Haverhill is just like any other employer, they have the right to hire (or not) whom ever they want. The employment guarantee does not mean that you are guaranteed a job if you take this course – seriously, if you believed that, then I can understand why you think this is a scam, but that is no the case at all. If life were that simple, do you think the unemployment rates would be as high as they are?FINAL POINT – I am NOT a Haverhill stager. Nor do I want to be. I am in the process of taking the course and am just waiting for my exam marks. After I complete this venture, I will take my ASP designation, which for those of you who are worried about a lousy thousand bucks, it is nearly two-thousand dollars for a hands-on 3-day course and is internationally recognised - Haverhill isn’t. Haverhill is a basic course. If you cannot pass this one, perhaps you should reconsider this trade altogether!
I know the previous poster means well, but it is totally erroneous to state that "you can not learn creativity - you are born with it".Everyone is born with creativity. Everyone. Creativity is a gift from God and He gives it to everyone.Creativity comes in many forms. Some people are artistically or decoratively creative naturally. Others have to study to learn how to use the creativity they have received.I'm a published artist. People often say to me, "I can't draw." That is an erroneous statement. Everyone can draw. It's just that some people quit drawing when they were little children, so their skills never advanced beyond that point. Were they to take a class or study drawing techniques from a book, they could developing their drawing skills quite easily. The same thing holds true for interior design, redesign and staging. Everyone has the ability to be creative in this industry. Some may have a natural "knack" for it, or have dabbled more in arranging furniture and such while growing up or as adults. They may have learned from their parents. Others may find it necessary to study the specific subjects involved because they didn't have any prior life experience or knowledge. But EVERYONE can learn to stage and redesign and decorate. EVERYONE. ANYONE. I know because I train people and am witness to thousands who have learned and developed their God-given creativity and become exceptional professionals in the industry.
This is awful! I felt for it, took the exam and test. Re-took the test and now waiting for the 2nd grade. Their answers are typically vague, and it's unfortunate for me to have had to spend that kind of money specially when I am unemployed!!
QC (Quality of Course) gets high marks with the BBB and provides exactly what you need (except a job)Decorate-Redecorate provides an extensive library of materials to prepare you to open your own staging practice. The certification is optional. The cost is great for what you get. You can buy the books "a la carte," or you can buy a "course" that includes all of the books. There are various packages to fit any budget, but all are thorough and informative. Barbary Gould Staging Diva offers a nice course that helps you build your business, not so much about staging because she assumes you already know how to do that. All of these get an A or A+ with the BBB and I have not run into any complaints about them on the scam websites. Good luck!
