Dunno 'bout you other folkes, but for me it is a legitimate call...altho I didn't answer...have an appt. on Mon. 6/19, they were calling to confirm....but I google (ALL HAIL THE GOOGLE!!) all numbers before I answer.
I have received two calls from this number, no voice message...I am not answering...strange.
Caller id was AMERICAN VOICE. It was a robocall about getting supplement insurance for prescriptions. THis sure in heck ain't the SS office. I have no appointment with them. Has anybody thought that the robocalling slime might be SPOOFING a real number to put doubt in some peoples' minds?
It's not a scam you stupid [***].I had an appointment tomorrow and they were calling to verify it. They didn't ask for any social security numbers at all.
THIS IS SOCIAL SECURITY!!!!! Just rec'vd call and voicemail stating that they did not receive my form about financial assistance with perscription assistance. They also left an 800 number to return the call. As I am receiving SSA due to a disability, I am aware of what they are talking about as I had a reminder sent to me in the mail and have just recently mailed it back. Therefore, I did not find it necessary to return the call.
I got a vm from 972-497-1400 saying I need to call ss about some drug disount application, which I know nothing about. They gave the 800-772-1213 for ss which appears to be legit. But, the 972-497-1400 number had American Voice name on my caller ID. It all seems fishy.
NOT A SCAM. Just a reminder of a phone appointment with SSA. I have a call tomorrow regarding my daughter that I set up a month ago and it was just a reminder. Asked for no information. I live in Iowa, not sure why a DFW number but safe to answer.
This is a phishing scam. I am currently on disability. Calls for all phone appointments are ALWAYS done through your local office by your caseworker. Texas would not be calling me when I am from Illinois. I just hung up with the SSA office to verify this information. It is a scam. 100% not the SSA or any of their companies that provide drug coverage etc. The SSA will first contact you by snail mail first ALWAYS with a complete description of any actions that they are taking or that you must take. It is not their policy to REMIND individuals of appointments. If you miss it, tough luck Charlie! If you think the Fed is doing everything they can to give away free money, you are sadly mistaken. For questions call the SSA's national line. They will check your records and confirm this. Have fun and continue to argue. :)
