A call and message was received from this number today. Thanks to Keeping Private (see p. 20), here is the real story:THIS IS NOT SOCIAL SECURITY!!! Well This Is My Second Phone Call 972-497-1400 It Showed Up In My Id Caller As American Voice And When I Google American Voice This Is What It Said www.americavoice.comAmerica Voice is an international long distance calling service that provides a simple, reliable and inexpensive way to connect with friends and family abroad THIS IS NOT SOCIAL SECURITY!!!!They Ask For Personal Information Social Security Number Etc...... Do What You Want At Your Own Risk!!!!

Another key word is Obama ,India,China,Pakistan,and every other foreigner that can get to America.

I think the ones who say it is not a scam is probably the scammers.

That # could be used for both reasons,to be legitimate and then to scam you. If it seems confusing and can't figure out if its a scam or not,then I would just say it is a scam and be done with it. Don't give out any personal info on the phone to people you don't know who you are talking to..Just call the office headquarters they say they are calling from and find out for sure and always get a call back # from these callers to report them.

Well,I just got a missed call from that # and tried to call it back but the # has been discounted,so all you who say this is ssa is little dummies growing into big idiots if you believe this is ssa.

Hell no they are not perfect,they are SCAMMERS !!!!!!!!!!

Thats what I think!! If people don't believe it,,just let them get scammed!!!!! We have tried,did our part!!!

report all calls like this to the Federal Trade commission.But first try to find out their company name,address,website, etc if you can to report to FTC.Call 877-382-4357.. and go to their website.www.ftc.gov..this is what they do ,,check out their website..If you can't find out nothing else call them anyway,,,877-382-4357 and give them the scammers phone #. Please do this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a phone appt. scheduled with the SS Dept. on Monday( this is Friday). I didn't answer the phone because it registered American Voice. They did not leave a message, so I guessed it was like all the other scam calls. I'm glad it was only a reminder call, because I guess I would have missed the real call trying to avoid all the scammers that call daily! I

It is not a scam, they called me too because I have an appointment with them tomorrow as well.
