Me Too, I just became old enough to claim widows benefits. I have an appt tomorrow to make my claim at the local office. I got a voicemail that asked for no info. They left an 800 # that I called and they only asked for my name and city. NO SS#. Why would a scammer call only to leave a polite and useful voicemail message. It is (for once) something GOOD that SSA does.

Idk but the same # called me but I didn't answer but I do know that my case worker calls me 2 verify things not someone from outa state

I got a call from this number 972-497-1400. It was Social security administration that called me and when I answered a recording reminded me of my interview for the next day.

Call came at 11:14am on 7-26-07. In a rare instance, the wife picked up the phone on an unknown identity. But....it was from the Social Security Administration reminding her of an appointment the following day.
