Wow, great info. Are you a lawyer by chance? I've been having to deal with this for a while now and they will not stop calling. Wonder how long it would go on if you really do owe them something?
aND WHAT ABOUT WHEN THEY CALL YOUR CELL PHONE and your not even the person they want and the harass you and threaten you if you do not pay I keep getting calls from them looking for 2 people that do not live here i have had the number for a year and the claim well they called and talked to them at that number just last week they are scammers or just plain stupid or ignorant
If you are getting calls from these people on your cell phones. check with you provider and see if they have blocked calling. If so sign up for it. Its not much for some. I have verizon and I signed up for it. I was getting a number that called me so often that it was beyond annoying. I added it to my blocked list and no longer get those calls. I just got a call from this number and I am going to add it. Just because of all the posts I have read here today. thank you all for posting on here.
I recieved a call from these people, but not for a loan that isn't paid. I cashed a payroll check that bounced and instead of going after the writer of the check, they are coming after me with all sorts of threats. I refuse to pay for a check that I did not write... told them so.
Working for a collections company (Third party collections), let me tell you a few things. Some of you people are really screwed up on your knowledge! First off, ACE is the FIRST PARTY COLLECTOR since they are the ones that gave the loan (that someone used, not forced to do, but did), so the FDCPA laws DO NOT APPLY!!! They do apply to third party collectors like me. One rule/law that does apply is that once the original customer tells the collector not to call the job, they can't call the job and ask for the customer, but what they can do IS CALL YOUR JOB and ask for human resources or manager to verify demographics! I really doubt that they are telling managers and supervisors you owe a debt. They do watch what they say as the calls are recorded, and they have to obey the laws. They are not just let loose to say what they want to collect. Also, you all need to actually read your laws in your state in regards to check writing, you think they can't actually proceed? Again, read your state laws, then get back on here. You people that take out these loans know that they are short term loans, not 3, 4 or 5 month loans. You take the money, agree to pay the fee or charges and then you don't and come on here and complain? Be responsable people, you made a debt, then honor it and stop being babies, the world owes you nothing. If you needed the money so bad and didn't want to pay the high rate of %, then why didn't you go to a bank and get a loan????? These people are doing a job, a job that has to be done cause people aren't responsable adults and try to get out of paying a debt they owe. For those who are complaining that ACE is calling a neighbor, guess what, it is legal. If a customer is hiding, or blocking the calls from that number, how does ACE expect to get paid? Again, people, grow up and pay your debts. NO ONE FORCED YOU TO TAKE THE LOAN DID THEY??????If the cust is not at that number, or it is a wrong number let them know, I doubt they are rude about wrong numbers, maybe to the point. There is a difference!
Hmmm, my experience wasn't so bad. So far anyway... I got a call from this number yesterday & since I did not recognize the number, I waited until the caller spoke. They're looking for the previous owner of my phone number & it's been almost a year now that I've had this number. It's rather obvious why this number became available. I've had so many robocalls, telemarketers, & collections calls I've had to block or not answer. I took a chance on this one & hope that my number is removed from their records as the caller said it would be.The call I got was courteous & I did not even try to track down what the business is until today when I noticed one of my phones was unplugged (bad power outlet location). I did not get the male caller's name.I do hope the previous owner got her flu shot, some flu clinic has been robocalling too.
A Mr. Starks called here looking for one of our temporary employees. Said that he needed to speak with an HR Manager. I am the HR Manager but just happened to be at the front desk answering the phone. I told him that if he's looking for an employment verification, he needs to fax it to us. I gave him my first name, but we do not give out last names here. He started yelling at me that he already knows the individual he was calling about works here, and he wants to speak to the HR Manager because he's a Senior at his job and he takes his job seriously and obviously I have no clue what I'm talking about because I introduced myself with my first name. If I took him seriously and his "business call" seriously, then I would have introduced myself as "Ms. so and so" just like he could have said his name was Ron. He was yelling about how this is not a joke and he wants to talk to the person who actually knows what they're talking about. Threatened to speak with our corporate office. I finally told him that I'm the only one in the company who can help him and because of his attitude, I probably won't be doing that today or any day in the future. He said "so you're not gonna help me or what? You're not gonna give me to whoever knows what they're talking about?" I said Thanks so much and hung up on him. Horrible horrible man. I was so mad my hands were shaking!
ace cash express has been calling me over and over and i tried telling them that i didnt have it , the 280 dollars! The lady got all into my personal life asking about 401ks ands such fourth, but if i had a 401k i would have borrowed it from there dont u think! then 4 3 months they have been talking about turning my case over to the police!!! Im not scared i thinks its funny!
Really. I live in the State of Washington and there are super specific rules that govern payday loans that have just passed. These companies are in the category of predatory lending and although folks take these out with full knowledge that they are taking a loan, its still considered predatory for a reason. Most folks that file for bankruptcy have multiple amounts of these so called loans, averaging 4 to 6. Fact. Now I am sure that "New Mexico", as a collection worker might not see payday loans as a part in all this financial hullabaloo that effected high risk mortgages but whatever. The simple fact is that loose regulations (not just NINJA loans) resulted in one of the most dangerous financial catastrophes the US has seen. These loans are very specific in that they target desperate people that if they had a financial outlet they would not seek these loans out in the first place and these companies know this. . . really, really know this.
