Why do you think you have the answers? What do you suggest for the person who has already lost their jobs - one due to 911 because it was a job in the aerospace industry, next one because it was in the construction industry as that industry started going south and next one because the economy went south.due to house, who has sold everything they own, including any clothes off their back that is not absolutely necessary, has lost their home and was lucky enough that someone allowed them to put their bed in their unfinished basement (one small window, no bathroom, no kitchen, lots of spiders and bugs), spent ALL of their savings- which was btw arrearages from child support that took 18 years to get - and not all of it was collected - on paying bills, most of them exceedingly high because it was catch up from the divorce and having lost jobs (see above) AND because the CREDIT CARD COMPANY WOULDN''T APPLY THE CREDIT CARD INSURANCE THAT I HAD PAID SO THAT I _WOULD_ BE COVERED IN THE EVENT THAT I HAD THE MISFORTUNE OF LOOSING MY JOB!!!! There's more but unless you are really dense - or maybe if you are King Solomon (which you aren't), you have no business judging people or telling them what to do or how to do it unless you have walked in their shoes. No one does.

It must be nice to be paid 100,000.00 - the problem here is some of us had jobs and now do not because of the ecomony or fell ill, etc and had no intentions of getting into this situation but have. I had an Amex card. My business has taken a 70% decrease in revenue. I use to float my business on my Amex (30-50K per month) never late once in 15yrs. I had to go into survival mode to take care of my family and Amex gave me a charge off on my credit report. Shortly after that I was able to pay off the 30k balance but still show a charge off. HOW do I get that off my credit report?

I'm with you full force. I will protest these scumbags till the day I die! Fortunately I live in Texas which is a debtor friendly state. There's practically nothing they can do to me, but I hate these evil doers! They are still harassing me every day, no matter what I do they are ruthless creeps! I keep filing complaints with FTC and the Attorney General's office. They must be stopped!!

Here is something to take to the bank. A Charge off can only be applied to an account where a payments has not been made in 6 months. So if you are making payments and have proof, you can get Zwicker violation of FCRA. Also, what many people don't know is the company uses charge offs for tax write off purposes. Once, it's paid they have to re-report it the IRS as income. Almost always they don't. IRS violation. File a criminal report by calling the IRS, and use that number to send it to CRA's and they will remove your charge off ASAP. They have too.
