"Stealing" is a criminal offense. You can be arrested for stealing. You cannot be arrested for falling behind on bills.
It is harrasment, that has been proven in court and giving us the knowledge on reprecutions, in other words threatning you with consequences, please, you can do all that in a nice letter that goes in the mail....you know, the legal way. I have asked your company to not call me during work hours all 3 times you have called, the last time my boss threatened me with my job, that is not helping.
So, they called my ex-boyfriend. He thought maybe it was someone I might want to call and let know I moved. Turns out it is just debt collectors. I am with all of you. Send me something in the mail if you want results and I am happy to talk to you, work out some kind of agreement and make payments as possible. IN our weak economy, that as possible is hard to come by. Those of you on here who either work for said agency or otherwise enjoy belittling other people and calling us all thieves because OUR Home and JOB situations Do not allow us to pay back our debts, Keep calling us THEIVES, but spell it right. I HOPE That somehow makes you feel better about yourselves. I am tired of being called and not having messages left. IF you have a concern or reason to call me; give me your name, your number, and the purpose of your call. I will probably call back. NOT IDENTIFYING yourself on the other hand, means I will not call back.
I had to change my number because they would call everyday. I never pick up. I can only assume it is because of my messed up student loan thanks to my school. I didn't know I had two student loans instead of one. I filed for bankruptcy and finished paying off my chapter 13, and now they are calling me non-stop. The IRS went after me to pay taxes on the one loan because bankruptcy took care of that, and I am now paying my government loan. So why are these people calling me? Should I worry?
I have received several calls from this number asking for a person that does not live with me. I have refused to provide any information about the person they are asking for and their reply has been "we will keep calling until you give us the answer we want." The last time they called they did state that they were from Zwicker & Associates and that is what led me to this page on the web. The callers are down right nasty, rude, and aggressive. There should be some way to stop these calls from coming in. Any advice?
I work at Zwicker and I will call you and call you and call you until you agree to pay what you owe. That's how I make my living - and I love it when a[removed:lang] tries to get away with not paying. Ring - ring - ring. Get used to it [removed:lang] .
No, I didn't work for the Agency you mentioned. I know that times are rough, but they didn't like the way I treated customers with respect. I started out in Accounting and the next thing I knew, I was placed on the phones. Collectors quit every day. They let me go after a month on the phones. It's really not my cup of tea, but right now I am just looking for a job period until I complete my degree.
Although it is true you can be sued by a debt collector (such as Zwicker and Assocates who both buys debts and also directly represents creditors), they cannot turn an unsecured debt into a secured one. I am a legal assistant for my attorney husband who represents consumers in debt collection defense/violations in Florida. Judgements are neither unsecured nor secured and the ability of the holder to collect is completely dependent on the laws of state the suit was brought in. Some states allow garnishment, liens, forced sale of property, etc., and some do not. Florida, for example, disallows judgement collections against homesteads, retirement income, social security or disability, or heads of households. This might sound picky, but it's an important legal distinction. I would urge anyone being collected upon to seek legal advice and representation. There are often legal defenses available, and some lawyers will take cases on contingency since they often recover fees from the other side. See guys like Bud Hibbs (not an attorney but a plethora of great information) at www.budhibbs.com or National Association of Consumer Advocates at www.naca.net for an attorney in your state and area. Don't give up, seek advice and fight.
