Keep calling for a couple with the same last name as my husband and I. I have repeatedly told them they have the wrong (insert last name), but keep calling anyways.
right on Boss! F them they will not get a penny out of me. I am lucky I live in Texas which is a debtors paradise, if you want off the hook move to the lone star state there are plenty of attys who will save your [***] but you can always DIY for next to nothing, just educate yourself you will find loopholes and get out of paying these scumbags!
Thats not true.If thats the case, just show up court. Make them send theer dime. You think a jury in todays time will convict you. I would rather show up in court and state my case. Let them sue me, I have all the time in the world, remember it is there dime, not your dime
So i received a call from a guy from this place and he asked for a person in the household and i put him on hold to look for that person, but they weren't here so when i got back on the phone with him he accused of being that person and every time i tried speaking to would cut me off then and said i would have to deal with the consequences...and he said the phone call was recorded. Then he hung up. Jerk. So do they actually go through with what they saying in the matter of suing? I thought it was against the law to harass people over the phone?
Thanks for your post, unfortunately, probably through no fault of your own because you simply aren't aware of it, your employer Zwicker & Associates, continuously violates the law by using telephone harassment techniques to scare people into paying them, and they also withhold certain documents regarding the account that by law are REQUIRED to be released to the debtors when requested. You are employed by criminals, how does that make you feel? Do you realize that you could be subpoenaed at any time to appear in court as a witness and that your conduct and the terminology you use during telephone conversations with debtors could be called into question? You need to be very careful what you say and how you say it; and by the way, if you tell someone that their conversation is being recorded, they have the absolute right to not give their consent to surveillance or recording of any kind. If you violate this civil right you are breaking the law! The agents who call always claim they are not attorneys, yet they inform you of certain "actions" that could be taken. You better be careful what you say on the telephone. Technicalities, technicalities...people educate yourselves!!
YOUR TALKING ABOUT YOUR FEDERAL LOAN NOT YOUR PRIVATE STUDENT LOAN THERE ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF STUDENT LOANS OUT THERE YOU MUST HAVE A DEFFERMENT OR FORBARRENCE ON YOUR FEDERAL LOAN PRIVATE LOANS YOU HAVE TO START PAYING BACK ASAP!
These people called me claiming to be attorney's........the lady was smart enough to say SHE was not an attorney, but was representing them. They called me at work......100% unacceptable.
My daughter got calls from collectors as she has a common name. She recorded an announcement on her answering machine from a disconnected number, it says "This number is no longer in service". She informed her friends to stay on the line and leave a message at the end of the announcement....
Uh AC, a MA debt collection agency sued you in OH, sure. You seem to know the various states debt collection laws fairly well. Pretty odd.I think I can offer some slightly better advice then yours, which seems to be do as they tell you or they will own your [***] in court. My advice is always try to work out a settlement for legit debts with legit professional collection agencies - actually try to work things out with the orginal debtor before it goes to collections. You can always almost settle for a percentage of the debt and/or an extremely reducted interest rate - around 0.9-4% with long payment terms (if needed).Just to give everyone a leg up in collection agency thinking. What happens is the original company is saddle with what turns out to be a bad debt - after trying to collect it on their own (tactics vary from company to company) they will sell it to a debt collection agency for a much smaller percentage then the original debt. Which in turn might get sold to another debt collection company and eventually might even get bought back by the original debtors. It's quite the screwy system. But this quite the screwy country. :)
