They are calling me too. I told them I am looking for work, but they asked me to borrow money to pay them. That is just plain dumb. Don't worry about them. If you don't have the money, what can they do? Take you to court and get a judgment and file away. The people are crazy and rude.
Anyone can file a judgement against you and they don't have to be in the same court as you. They can hire an attorney the city that you live to do it for them. They also can contact the courts & do it themselves.
I have been called twice at inconvenient times and you guys asked for people who don't and never have lived here. When I asked how you could have gotten my number the collection person said " they may look at the person they wants phone number and see who they have called and call them to try and contact this person." Is this legal? I didn't know you could do such a thing legally!!!!!!! What has this country come too?! I know for a fact that most people want to pay their bills. I know someone who wanted to just pay interest on a mortgage this month to get over a tight spot and the bank said they could not just pay the interest or have the payment moved to the back of the loan because they have never been late with a payment. So that is how our government/banking industry treats people who are trying! Who are the deadbeats! Not the person who has never missed a payment until now.
I just got a new phn number and they are calling it and b eing rude. I guess it must have been someone elses. At least now I know who it was I called a dirty hoe a,d hung up on. Adios.HB
you do not make 1100.00a year r .you real collage graute or a mutt. i hope mom & dad are proud of you
Please do not listen to all these people on here. I work for a bank and see everyday where people get their accounts garnished & levy's attached to their checking or savings accounts to repay a debt. If you are truly concerned about debt that you owe, work with them, get a lawyer, do anything. Ignoring them makes it worse. Banks will always work with you, if it's reasonable.
Correction. We can call you on any number we can find for you. The only point we cannot call you on that number is when you tell us you would not like to be contacted at that number. You can tell us that you dont want to be contacted at all which is fine, the only difference is that we will not be able to call you an notify you the status you are in with collection process. If you dont want to talk on the phone, its not going to stop our process, it only stops our ability to contact you and give you a better option than civil suites.
What a mess. I can sympathize with you. Back in the 1990's I had a loan with Sallie Mae and US Funds that I was trying to pay off on, in spite of the fact that my college degree was pretty much useless and couldn't get me a good paying job anywhere. After a while, they called and said that my monthly payments weren't big enough and they were going to start garnishing my wages. Weird part is, after garnishment they were getting less money per month than What I was originally paying them (???) I thought, OK whatever. 3 years go by and then my employer goes out of business. I call them to make new arrangements since I didn't have any wages to garnish anymore. Their response was: "We haven't received any payment from you in a long while." So I ask: "What about the $4200 that you have been collecting for the past 3 years? They say: "We have no record of that." Ridiculous. Now I am being garnished again for the same loan and I'm pretty sure I will have to pay that $4200 all over again. I just wish they would send me a statement or payment record of some kind. Why would they refuse to do this? Oh well. The one thing I know for sure is: I am never going to college again. What a joke.
