That is a valid hardship, and you can probably have your debt settled for a fraction of what you owe. However, there is no law that says "if they have cancer you should be nice to them". That would fall under sincerity or kindness, which are both out of place in a business where money is owed. Take what you can get.

Got a message from them on my answering machine - said it a guy from a Zwicker Law Firm - kinda freaked out especially seeing these messages above!

Michael Lynch from Zwicker & Assoc called and theatened me. Said Amex is sueing me, that the judge is going to garnish my wages etc. I gave him $350 over the phone. Now this months current Amex statement didnt reflex the $350. The guy ripped me off. They are a collection agency, not a law firm that Michael Lynch claimed them to be.

I'm sooooo glad I found this. I got a call from Ms. Polonki and she threated me also. Said amex was doing to sue me and they would put a lien on my house. I was in tears after I hung up. Ruined my day.

I get alot of calls from this number. They are always rude. I dont know what the problem is because I dont owe them any money. Alot of times it is late evening or early mornings, even weekends.

They call on my cell frequently, at least once a day, if not more. I don't answer because I don't know who they are and not wasting my minutes on an unknown call. They don't leave messages either so I don't call them back. One time they called I did accidentally answer because I was texting when the call came in, and the guy said he was calling about an account at Bally Fitness from 2000, that I cancelled long ago and thought was settled. Then he asked me, what are you going to do to clear this account. I said, "I have about $31 until payday, so I'm going to guess... Uh, nothing?" and hung up..lol

I get threatening calls from them daily stating that this is "the last time I can voluntarily" take care of my account. They also leave me messages stating I should handle myself like an adult and call them back.I never do.
