Received a call from 202-210-0054 this afternoon. He spoke in a heavy West Indian or Caribbean Islander accent. He stated that he worked for the US Federal Government Human Health Services Grant Department and was calling to validate my information so that the government could award me with a $9000 grant. When I probed for more information about the organization, call-back number, and location, the caller became rude and defensive. Eventually I told him he was the kind of scammer that my grandma warned me about and then WHOA he hung up.
Received a call from this # at 6:51pm CST on my work phone. Did not answer since I rarely get calls on this phone from out of state, and they did not leave a message. Looks like I'm not the only person in MN that was called today.
call my girlfriend saying that she had a government grant for $5,000 and needed a credit card # then went to $9,000 .he didn't speak understandable English .when he spoke with her and she told him that she had no account or credit info of any kind he sounded stumped. anyway she called me .she knew it was possible but far fetched.anyway, after speaking with both of us. he agreed and didn't sound like he was thrilled ,but I am supposed to be going to the bank to open an account for her and just open the account and he is supposed to be calling back in three hrs. I have a feeling with him knowing the there is only the min to open the account in there he probably wont call back. a crook will take anything they can get so I will waste no more time and let my lady report this also .
Received this call on my cell phone. There was a short pause before the caller spoke up, as if it were a VoIP call being routed through Washington D.C. The caller spoke with a thick accent (probably caribbean or west African, although it could have been Indian), and from what I could make out, it was a scam offer to "recover" thousands of dollars from the US Government. At the end of her pitch, when I did not immediately respond, the caller disconnected.
i have gotten this call 3 times today and it is a 2014 political poll on my thoughts of Obama.. I DONT CARE!!!!
Same as most of the other respondents -- heavy accent, delay in answering. I recognized that the call was "from" the D.C. area -- they offered a $9000 government grant. Government grants are offered (think: educational grants), but this is certainly not the process to receive one. I said "I'm not interested" (he wasn't listening, just reading his spiel; I repeated "I'm not interested" and hung up. No followup call from either end.
This is Richard Ladds girlfreind . When he called me both times he called from this number- 202-451-7830.One Love
she said it was a grant for 9 thousand dollars. I told her i was so excited and shocked to be chosen because i send little children from countries with accents exactly like hers around the world on one way tickets and now i can finally afford the battery powered toys i've always wanted to put in their bags... she hung up..
