I agree, I just texted someone about 10 minutes earlier about something on craigslist and then got this call. That is really strange and I will not be texting or calling anyone on craigs list again.
Just received a call from this number. Male with foreign accent (Caribbean?) made sure he told me he was calling from the United States, and that I had been selected for a government program.....I didnt listen to any more, told him I wasnt interested and to take me off his calling list .... its about that time I heard a click. I want to know how the hell they got my number

RECEIVED A CALL FROM SOMEONE WITH A THICK ACCENT (INDIAN). SOMETHING ABOUT A $9,000 U.S. GOVERNMENT GRANT. WHEN I QUESTIONED THE CALLER, HE HUNG UP. DEFINITELY A SCAM. SO MUCH FOR BEING ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST?!!!!!!!!!!
I have not nor do I go on Craigslist and I got this phone call. I have also not sought out jobs nor anything else where I've put my cell phone number out there to be retrieved. That being said, they called, I answered and immediately hung up without listening to the drivel. Then I googled the number and found this conversation about what the caller is saying. Scam 100%.
Received calls & hang ups to my cell phone from this number. On the "Do Not Call Registry", but that's no help.
I also got a similiar message...said I had $9,000 waiting for me from Feds...and I didn't have to pay it back!

Someone using this number called, when I answered there seemed to be there cut I said "hello" twice and no one said a thing. I hung up. If it was a collector they would not only answer but keep you on the line for as long as it took.

Yes. The caller claimed to represent Document Delivery Services and threatened to serve me with papers from a fifteen year old debt. A check with my local County Clerk’s Office revealed no evidence of lawsuit filed.
