Two points here, because I really shake my head reading about people constantly finding strange numbers on their phone that leave no messages. And instead of thinking a bit farther, some come here to complain and even wonder if their spouse/GF/BF is cheating on them? (Yeah, maybe they are. Instead of having a decent relationship you're calling the number to confront the other person or coming here to whine to us? You have a problem.)Firstly - my hubby has had 3 texts with no actual text on his crappy, archaic ATT phone, all on Jan 2, all in the same minute. This was the first and only time it ever happened (I went over the records and looked. He's only had the phone 5 months. It's like a Cricket phone, it doesn't do a thing and doesn't even have GPS) He gets a lot of odd texts that don't come through. We actually had to get him a text package because he never texts, and ATT was charging us 10 cents each for them and refused to do anything about it. We started getting spammed a lot when we was stupid enough to give his cell number to some of his doctor's offices, which he obviously needed to do so they could get a hold of him since he works outside all day. Hence the Spam Crap started, because our hospital had 3 computers stolen from them (it was in the news). There you go. It will never stop now. Not brain surgery. There are Text-Spammers, too - bars and clubs use there, for example, to send out mass-texts on events. Spammers do this to "ping" a phone to see if it's a Live phone just the way a Spam Bot will call your phone to see if you're dumb enough to answer or call back, so they know it's a Live phone or if they can talk you into buying something. Or scare you into thinking you owe the IRS money that you have to pay now, or your kid is in jail and you have to pay now or you just won the Nigerian Lottery.Of COURSE, if some people see a random, suspicious text on a phone and some people are control freaks or mistrusting their first instinct is going to be "I bet he/she is screwing around on me! I'll text that SOB back!" and then BINGO you just 1} let them know they have a live phone 2} Just opened up a 2-way window to them via that text so now they can put that trojan on your phone 3} why not just block it and forget it?Sometimes people get viruses or spyware or malware from downloading games or apps. They can get them from clicking on links in email or on Facebook, etc - phones are JUST LIKE desktop computers used to be. It's not their intention to do so; but I just don't understand why people think phones are soooo different and they can go all over the internet, download every lousy, cheap game and app from all over the world made by Who Knows Who from people in other countries whose JOB it is to hijack your information and hack your banking info. How do you think all this personal info is being stolen these days? If you bundle your phone/Cable/Internet and your internet/phone/laptop gets hacked or you lose your phone, your entire life is hacked. They have your phone, your TV, your Netflix, your friend's information, your calling history, your laptop, your life. I used to work for 2 massive Internet companies doing tech support and also then interface security and believe me when I say it was incredible to me how anyone sitting where you are could ever keep their computers safe. That anyone did was a miracle to me. No manner of Virus software, virus programs, malware programs, etc. could keep up with what "they" were doing out there. (I myself have a no-nonsense industry virus program and run 4 stand-alone, private, small "citizen written" programs that find malware and spyware. Every week. I also cull my registry by hand. It's that bad out there!)My point being: phone are not toys. All you need to do to get a virus on your phone, same as it was to get one on your laptop or desktop - is to GIVE yourself one. Plain and simple. That is all. That is it. It was always it.A lot of these numbers that show up on your bill are malware. This is the same as when the spammers used to hijack (especially AOL) accounts, as they had AOL specific-"viruses" that still don't and never could be detected by any virus programs as they are not viruses - they are programs. Most "viruses" ARE programs and will not be found by "virus" programs you are running. They use your phones to call Whoever planted then there and send out whatever info or tidbit they are wanting from your phone - your contact list, your billing info, your location list, your Whatever. Maybe it didn't even work and it's doing nothing. To back up my claim here, for you doubters, go to the PlayStore of iTunes or where ever look at one of the apps or games you already installed. Look at the list of "Permissions" Very few people read this fine print. They just want to play the game. You will be horrified at what you are allowing this game/app to do to your phone and your life. In most all cases they will: They have the right to own you, and market to you, and give you to their 3rd party marketers. This is how they make their money. These numbers, callers, spammers, (and yes, on your land lines, too - that information is found via your bundled cell phones/laptops/landlines/Cable/email) are 3rd party marketers who are entitled to that information. You gave it to them. Read the "privacy policy" page of all these app and game companies. Unless you email them and specifically request that they not do it with your info (and then give them 30 days), they do.WHATSAPP is notorious for people using it to hack through, and if you have it I'd get rid of it. If you really, really, really insist on having it, Uninstall it. And NOW, shut off your phone, let it sit a minute, boot back up, reinstall WHATSAPP and start fresh. See if you still get the weird texts.Every WEEK (I'm not kidding) go into your phone's settings and look at your Application Manager. ONE BY ONE look at your apps. Remove the ones you aren't using! (You will be amazed at what you have sitting there. All these are sending and receiving updates and sending out data yet.) Disable and Force STOP those that you aren't using but can't remove. Clear your CACHE <--- very important. This will give you room. It will fill back up, it won't effect a thing going on. This will clear out bugs and old things that might be running in the background that you don't want running. The current game of the day, Candy Crush Saga, with 9 million downloads, has a massive TV commercial budget with top Hollywood actors pitching it. It's a "free" game. Imagine how they make their money. It's not all in-app purchases..Not meant to be a rant. Just meant to be a bit educational. You have to be aggressive about this or they will own you.

I found this on my bill, all incoming text that don't show up on the phone itself. I asked my kids because it was only on their I phones. It has to do with group messaging.... my daughter confirmed the times that the group messaging started and ended. So ladies he's not cheating or looking at porn.

I have gone back and looked at my phone bills and have literally thousands of incoming texts from this number that never show up on my phone. Only the bill. I found it on all 6 phone lines that we have through AT&T, but most of them are on my line. Called AT&T and they said they can't block it, but that I should file a report with the FCC, which I did. I finally bought Smart Limits through AT&T and blocked the number that way, but that made it so that I wasn't receiving any group texts. Decided to stick with it and now I am finally receiving group texts after having that number blocked for 48 hours. Weird stuff!
