This is Bank of America..they were verifying a purchase that I made online. I called the number on the back of my card and BofA re-routed me to the correct department. I think this a great service and very happy that they called to verify my purchase!
Exactly. They picked up by saying "Card Services". I asked them if they are BoA and they informed me that they service other companies too.
Yes, same here...but this time I called back and someone picked up with no response. I kept calling the number and got busy signal. After reading these posts I went to my BofA website and they had a fraud alert on it...it appears some generic netflix is trying to get more info. Like every one else BofA has closed my account and will send me a new card.
i missed a call from this number, looked it up on google, and found the posts here.then i called the B of A number on the back of my card. turns out i had fraudulent charges on it (first time in 14 years as a customer)so, if you get a call from this number, and you're a B of A customer, definitely call them ASAP to find out what's wrong.
It is a legit number. it is an automated message. but still, always call the number on your card.
I received a call from this number and didn't answer it. After looking up the number here I called my bank to see if everything was alright. They said no fraudulent charges had been made and checked their records to see if they had called me, they didn't. The young woman said it was a fraudulent call and BofA hadn't tried to reach me at all today. This has to be a scam.
I too got a message from 302-731-1166. We had already been notified that there were fraudulent charges on my husband's BOA card. The interesting thing is that when I dialed the above number (autodial on my phone) I got a man's voice and I said that I was responding to a recorded message. He said 'No" and I appologized and hung up. Sounded strange to me
Got a call from this number last evening. We don't answer when we don't recognize the number, plus the caller didn't leave a message. I concluded it was a sales call but later in the evening became curious and looked the number up. I read the entries on this sight and decided to side with the people who said it was not BOA. Didn't rest all that easy last night so decided to call the 1-800 number on the back of my card and check my balance and see if there were any recent purchases. To my surprise there was a charge for $800 (teenage clothing store), one for almost $700 (bed and bath store) and another almost $100 (bed and bath store) totaling almost $1,600. These charges were all blocked after BOA asked the store for verification and the thief could not come up with verification. My husband and I are middle of the road Joes and we work hard for the $ we make. He is blessed to have a job and I have picked up temporary, odd jobs along the way to try to make ends meet. I, like millions of others, have not been able to find a permanent job so we do with what we have and are very thankful. I'm so mad that some stranger feels they have a right steal this hard earned money...money we worked for and money we use to care for our three young children. I'm not sure why there are people on this sight insisting this phone number is a fraud but I can understand anyone's concern about fraud these days. My suggestion is, if you get a call from this phone number (302-731-1166), call the 1-800 on the back of your BOA credit card...You Know that Number's Legit. Protect yourself and thank you to BOA for having the sense to notice these purchases did not meet with our buying patterns.
Received a call from this number today - didn't answer it, but googled the number, that's how I ended up here. I don't know if that number is actually Bank of America or not, but I do know that after reading a few comments here, I decided to check all my accounts for fraudulent charges, just in case. Sure enough, two fraudulent charges on my Bank of America credit card. One at Publix and one at Wal-Mart. Miami, I think. I haven't been to Miami lately. I called the number on the back of my card to report the fraudulent activity.
