It's a legit number, I called the number back and it was BOA Fraud division. They actually caught fraudulant activity on my card. They did a good job! I'm glad I called them back.
You are sadly mistaken and obviously a 'chicken little' type. Do your homework and you will find this 302-731-1166 number - is INDEED a legitimate number with legitimate reasons for calling you. They just called me and I called the number on the back of my card and confirmed charges I had made the previous day. Due to the fact that I had never used this card they (BandOfAMerica) became concerned and wanted me to verify the charges.DOING WHAT THEY SHOULD DO!!!!!! Again, this is NOT a FRAUD or SCAM!
I received a call from this number 302-731-1166 showing CARD SERVICES on the Caller ID at 8:30 a.m. today (Sunday). I missed the call and they did not leave a message. I initially thought it was from either my Chase Card Services or my BP Card Member Services. However, the call apparently was from Bank of America (based on above messages), which had also sent me an email Fraud Alert Notice about Irregular Activity on my bank credit card. Then when I logged in to my regular Bank of America online banking account I received the same Fraud Alert Notice. It regarded something I had done yesterday online to update the new card they sent me my reoccuring service providers, which was legitimate - and I was able to resolve it online. It is nice to see the Fraud Protection department working on Sunday and that they contacted me through every available means possible. I would recommend that anyone receiving such a phone call to NOT provide any information on the phone but rather resolve it through your secure online account, or if not online, call the phone number on the back of your credit card.
This number called my phone and did not leave a message. I DO NOT have a Bank of America account NOR have I ever had a BofA account.... there seems to be some back and forth about whether this is a fraud or not.... make up your own mind, but again, I've never had an account with BofA.
This is a legit service of BOA, checking to make sure no one is fraudulently using my card. While I appreciate the monthly service, it comes for the same charge everytime and they cannot note it in the system without canceling the service. Great service, but work on the technicalities!
I got a call from this number over and over and over and I couldn't figure out why and never got a voicemail. Finally I checked online and then called back. It was indeed Bank of America and I knew my card was frozen due to possible fraud but I didn't realize they were so adamant about letting me know. I didn't have to give any personal information when I called back. I gave my name, telephone number and they told me all my information and I had to verify by telling them an approximate amount of money in one of my accounts.Helpful number, helpful people.
I got called from 302-731-1166 today. I didn't answer it. They didn't leave a voicemail message. I did call BOA's customer service # and they did say they did try calling me because I had changed the billing address from my PO box to my home address yesterday and they were confirming the address change.
This is in fact a FRAUDULENT number! I am currently on the phone with Bank of America!!!!!!! Please don't fall for this. Be smart, never give your personal information to someone who calls you asking for it!!!!!!
They call me every month when the same charge, that I authorized to be charged to my credit card every month, hits my account. So annoying. I've verified it multiple times by calling their customer service number after they hound me by calling from this number. Shouldn't their state of the art fraud detection system get by now that this is not fraudulent? I authorized it!
Got a call from this number and googled it...found this website and immediately gave a call to the number on the back of the card. It was indeed a legitimate call from Bank of America. Some dirtbag had scammed my number and was trying to purchase almost $800 of stuff from Franklin/Covey. I'm amazed that they are this up on it to know that rapidly. Go BOA!!!!
