Call the number on the back of your card, you will learn that call was indeed from the fraud dept at BoA. In my case they just wanted to confirm a recent change of address that I had submitted online, but it could be suspicious purchases, you'll want to call back. If you're skeptical just call the number on your actual card which is obviously direct to BoA, they'll know that they recently called you.
This is the Bank of America fraud protection line. They called and left a message for us to contact them about unusual activity on our VISA. There were 2 unauthorized charges totaling over $500. BOA cancelled the charges and also cancelled my card. They will send me a new one. I also followed up with a trip to my bank and they verified everything. This is a good service.
Got a call from this number a few minutes ago. Never answer unknown out of state calls so did a quick google search and found this site. Called the number on the back of my card and it registered the card being in a fraud alert state. It listed the last 8 charges and I confirmed them. The number is legitimate, but safe practice is to always call the number on your card.
Never ever talk to a computerized call and never ever give ANY Caller any Personal information. Better safe than sorry. ALWAYS call the number ON YOUR CARD and demand to talk to some one IN THE USA, then check out any problems. Also, Always RECORD your calls (mp3 recorders are cheap and well worth any amount to have the true conversation recorded.).Also, tell ANY company, but Especially Bank of America you refuse to talk to anyone outside the USA ( for hell's sake, some nerve using America in your Name and having a NON-AMERICAN wanting information).I also ream them for having Spanish as an option for a language. USA, is an English Speaking Country. No speak English, you should NOT Be here in the USA. That is a Fact.
The call was from Bank of America Card Services verifying a recent on-line purchase. Good thing as the charge was incorrect. I got the vendor to correct the order; called BOA to re-verify the charge. Did not lose the ability to use my card.
Just a thought: I received a call from this number and it was indeed BofA. My account was frozen due to a computer fraud alert. The matter was resolved very quickly.I never use the call itself; I thank them and then use the Bank's web site or the 800 number on the card. For those that are saying it is a fraud; they are probably correct as well. Since it is a trivial matter to spoof caller id it would be a simple matter for fraudsters to fake a valid fraud number and begin a fraud compaign. So, this number is both real and a fraud. If you get a call like this; thank them, hang up, and use a known secure channel to verify and resolve the issue.
got called 3 days in a roll 3 times a day saying there bank of america fraud dept of course i didnt give them my credit card number but these people are ruthless i blocked there number on my phone but they can still leave voice messagesand my phone carrier (t-moblie) will block them off my voice messages for 5 dollars a month i should have ask them if they would take my credit card number
I don't usually use my credit card that much but i wanted to take my kids on a little shopping spree for school. I broke out my BOA credit card and off we went. $600.00 later my card stoppeed working. While at the register trying to pay, my cell phone rings. Sure enough it was Bank of America calling to make sure I was the person using the card! I could not believe how accurately they monitor their cards. It was a minor inconvenience but it was for my benefit as well as theres.
