I received call from BofA as well. But I recommend to go to your online account and use number there. No waiting time....
Yes, it's Bank of America and yes, it's fraud. BOA won't stop cancelling my cards and the reason? Because THEY "accidentally" leaked my information. So sick of this! No company as large as BOA should be completely confusing their customers like everyone here obviously is! Oh and I get constant fraud alerts after they cancel my card - um, hello? You are the cause of alert - you should know that! Ugh... so done with this bank.
This happened to me at Christmas time last year. I had made several charges in one day at several store by the same name but different locations. They put a hold on my card until the could verify it was me making the charges. It was an inconvenience but I was glad they are watching my back. If you get a call from them and are not sure it really is them, then just call the bank and verify what is going on.Don't ever give out information unless you are sure it is them.
This was a legitimate call. They caught someone trying to charge a Groupon transaction to my card. They are going to cancel my Bank of America credit card immediately and issue a new one. They did not ask for any personal information - I just had to verify my zip code and last 4 digits of the card. Do not ignore this call.
Just received a call from 302-731-1166 which we did not answer. Googled it and came up with this group/ blog. Immediately went on line to BofA account and into bill detail to see there were 2 pending charges that we did not make.Immediately called BofA on the phone number on our bill and after after entering the last four digits of the account was directly sent to a customer service agent with no additional steps. They noted that the 302 number was their auto dialer for suspicious charges. They discussed the two pending charges confirming what we saw on the web. Charges denied; account closed with new cards in the mail.Don't call back that number; call BofA directly. In our case the charges were initiated today. So, best to call BofA directly to close out the matter quickly.
Got a call at 4:20pm no message and just the number came up. I DON'T NOW OR HAVE I EVER had a BofA credit card. So, the what's the explanation? I seriously doubt that it's BofA

I recieved calls from this number at 10pm on Saturday and 8:30am on Sunday came up as "Newark, DE" on my caller ID. I did not answer the phone, but after reading the posts on here, I called Bank of America fraud department to find out if they had been trying to reach me. Indeed they had, just to verify some recent purchases on my card I had made.
Received a call from this number today. No message was left so I looked it up here and found your post. I have a BOA CC so I called customer service. The rep told me that he hasn't heard of the number and that there was no fraudulent activity on my card. He tried calling the number with me on three-way and it was busy. He said that fraud services would never be busy and he urged me not to give any information to anyone calling from that number.
received this call today... caller ID said 'card services' and I sent it to voicemail, no message leftI called the 800 number on my BOA credit card and spoke to the fraud dept who validated that the number IS their Delware office. They wanted to confirm that I had received my 'replacement' card that was sent due to a VISA merchant breach that may have included a merchant I used with the 'existing' card. That said, it's really easy to 'spoof' a caller ID so it's always best to make sure YOU initiate any call that discusses financial account details.
