hey guys... i have read most of these posts. PLEASE READ THIS ONE!!i received my second call from this number and then read your posts. when i got my 3rd call today, i answered so i could opt out of a telemarketing scheme. turns out THE CALL WAS LEGIT!! it was BANK OF AMERICA'S FRAUD DEPARTMENT. i recently started a business from home so i have been buying a bunch of stuff i wouldn't regularly buy, so they made me verify the purchases. they did NOT ask for my social security number. i was able to put in either my zip code or last 4 digits of my social security number. i put in my zip code. from there, thru an automated woman, they asked about my last 2 purchases. to verify, i hit the number 1, and then they said thank you and that i can resume using my card in about 5 minutes. IN MY OPINION, the reason that it is this 302 number is because they outsource their fraud department and a lot of financial companies have their headquarters in delaware for state tax reasons. i went to school there and saw this first hand. i would suggest answering the call, but of course not giving too much info. i would hate for people to have fraudulent charges on their card and not realize.
received call from this number and called B of A back on 800 number. They were checking on possible fraudulent charges - card hadn't been used in 9 months and husband was traveling in India using card. I have no problem with them being diligent! Thanks BofA for checking!
I received 3 calls from this number exactly 3 hours apart. The 3rd call a voice mail was left saying that Bank of Amercian found to be possable fraudalent charges on my account and they had froze my account. I called the name on the of the card. Found out that a charge had been run for a reoccuring yearly subscription for a magazine and the last time I used that card was a year ago. Was a legitimate call for me.
This number is not on the BoA site.Call for yourself. The scammers will write here themselves to lure you in.
I lent my cell to a lady who asked me for calling 911 and she called this 302 phone and she simulated that she was talking with the police... . so, I m really worried about all the information that these people could have about me. I haven't given any information... but I m really worried
I received this phone call while I was doing on-line banking with BofA!The machine proceeded to read me accurate info about two recent creditcard purchases, but I was still suspicious, so I pressed 3 to say I needed more time to check. Then I used the bank's "on line chat" to ask them if this was a fraud, and the representative told me it was a fraud. He gave me the phone number of the BofA fraud department: 866-559-0025. So I called them, and they told me it was legitimate call from the bank's fraud department. Their machine really did call me about a transaction.
It is Bank of America from Fraud Division. They call to make sure if unusual purchases is indeed purchases you made. I did the same thing in which I called the number in the back of my card. they confirmed that they did try to get a hold of me to confirm unusual activities. To be honest, I still prefer to call the bank since they do ask personal information and you never know the person calling is legit or not.
Received 2 hang up calls from this number. Googled phone number and realized the fraudulent intent which was reported to my credit card company. Report activity to Better Business Bureau @ 804.848.0016. Banks will never contact you requesting social security numbers or your account numbers.
Correction to my own message. The number 866-559-0025 was the number that the machine gave me to call back during the suspicious phone call. That was not the number of the BofA fraud department given to me by the on-line banking chat service. The fraud department number I actually called was 1.800.457-3693.
Not sure if you're talking about the same number... I bought something online from a website I had not used before. They called me to confirm that I had made the charge. When I called back, there was a man asking for personal info so I hung up. But I checked with BoA through their official number and it was legit.
