I got a call and it said there is unusual activity on my account. Then it asked me for the numbers so I hung up.Later I checked my online BOA and it DID have unusual activity. Now I am really not sure if it is the legit number.
I received q-315-724-4022 on my Caller ID. They said overseas call. I was suspicious. So I called 800-622-8731 and was told there was suspicious activity on my Bankcard. A BOA representative talked to me. Checked my personal affairs. Her number was 877-833-5617.She called me back to verify my recent activity. I told her of the charges that were bogus. [there were 3]. She removed them and sent me a new card. Of course, I work on Excell and so I know what I have charged or were used recently. I gave her my e-mail to contact me.
This is a legitimate number from Bank of America (BoA). They called about my daughter’s debit card. A hold was placed on it because of suspicious activity. She usually only makes small purchases but had withdrawn several hundred dollars the previous day. After talking to the BoA fraud alert unit it was confirmed that the calling number was valid. In fact they drew my attention to the back side and very bottom of my debit card which states “From Outside the US call collect at 315.724.4022”.
It's a good number. Got the same calls/messages. Called BOA customer service (800-432-1000) to double check and they verified my card was on hold for unauthorized activity. Had to verify the last 5 transactions; 4 were ok. BOA Fraud Department saved me at least $100.00.
They just called me and said it was from bank of America. They speak Spanish and it is a Colombian cellphone number. (Yes, Colombia South America)
Legitiment number for BOA Fraud Department. They saved me $100.00 by double checking the transaction.
They called me today and I thought it was someone from my home country, Colombia, so I called back, dialing 011 57, and a man picked up saying it was bank of america, but his voice sounded off. I spoke to him in Spanish and asked why he called and he said he had never called. He was fluent in English and Spanish. I had my father call too and the man refused to identify himself. This feels very much like a scam. Be careful.
Pls remember some calls from this number are legit and some are not. I've dealt with both with same number, because scammers spoof phone numbers (they will be not be legit), sometimes your bank may actually be calling as well.Best. NOT to give any info, don't verify anything. Then YOU call your bank and then you will discover if the call was legit or spoofed
Just go to BofA's credit card FAQ. Follow these simple steps: - Go to bank of america dot com (no link, type it in yourself) - Under products and services select Credit Cards - On the left select FAQs - Scroll down a little, find where it says Card Security Features - Under this select "What if my card is lost or stolen?" (little past half way in that section) - You will see this:Check Cards: Please call us at 1.800.848.6090 as soon as you discover your check card is missing. If you're calling from outside the U.S., call us collect at 1.315.724.4022. Do it. Stop screaming scammer when you are provably wrong with 1 minute's effort.
