Just had a call from 1-386-233-3694 and when I pressed 1 and spoke to a human I told her that soliciting calls, especially to numbers on the DNCL, are illegal. I told her to remove my number from her call-list and she just hung up without any courtesy whatsoever. These calls are all from the U.S. and when will these damned yankee companies realise that we are not interested in their pathetic attempts to rip us off.As if they could reduce the interest rate on a Canadian credit card!!!!!
I would like to report this number because I answer to this number and they asked if I wanted to lower my interest on my credit card and to press 1 and I did a person came to the phone female and asked me if I was interested in lowering interest on my cards. She asked me my phone number and I gave it but I think she knew it already and asked me if my cards were joint account so I am about to asked another question and she hung up on me .I tried to call back and it was busy all the time.I think it is a scam and wanted to report as such.
I am in Canada and alos on the Do Not Call list as well. Ever since I put our number on that list 386-233-3694 has been calling me...ugh fustrating!
I've received a call from this 386 number, and they offered to combine my Mastercard and Visa for a lower fee, but as soon as I asked their company name, the man grew impatient and growled that he had already told me. I told him that I'd be happy to take his offer after I had his company investigated, and he immediately hung up. Apparently, on a bit of research, many fraudsters calling from numbers with that area code.
I got the same call (from "Cardholder Services") I asked what credit company they were for... he said it quickly, I think heard "debt consolidation". He asked if I was over $8,000 in debt. As soon as I said no, he hung up. Rude much? :P
I have gotten 4 calls from these idiots about changes to my interest rates. These people are shysters and are looking for your card number. NEVER DO WHAT THEY ASK.
