I live in Fla. but my daughter went thru them for school loans. I HAVE reported them in Fla. and I am working on reporting them in PA. where they are located.Their computer screens will show they are up to date and then they will call because they claim you're past due. Since my daughter no longer has a phone, they call me 2-3 times each day they make calls! At least once for her and once for me as a co-signer. The day I got 3 calls was because I wouldn't reaffirm the info on the 2nd call, as I told him, when you called me this morning I verified all my info was correct. They need to make their online info match their collection computers info.
This is AES using their scare tactics to keep you nervous even if you are on time with your payments. They are an extremely slippery corporation. Just get the number blocked if possible & never answer it.
This is not a scam, it IS AES. They use this number to make the call and leave a message with a different number for you to return the call. This is a no call back number, it is just used to keep you from getting their direct phone number.Their collection info does not match the online info you will find for your a/c. I have complained about this to no avail. I have reported them to the State of Fla. and I am working on a report to the State of Pa.It takes them 7-10 business days to get your info updated. They require you use THEIR form if you have to drop a class and go below the min. hours to stay on deferrement in order to get BACK ON deferrment the next term. In the meantime they require you to make a payment because you dropped a class for a month or less time. They are unreasonable and a lot of the people are rude. They don't let you speak and make sure they have all the info needed as they are too busy making sure they have update info on you. I've tried emailing them and they respond with the same garbage that they tell you on the phone. They DO report you for non-payment to the credit bureau's, and once the deferrment is reinstated, they DON'T go back to the credit bureau and update the information to remove the late payments. They just stop reporting you at that time.
I have been getting called non stop by this number. I finally answered it today and they gave me a whole lecture on who they were and wanted me to verify my information. I said no and asked why they were calling and why they needed my information. They said they were calling for AES and that I had have been delinquent on my loans for the past 42 days. What loans?!?!? I did have loans through them at one time but I paid them off completely over 2 years ago!!! I think they are just trying to scam people for more money!
This is American Education Services ("AES"), a student loan servicer and collection agency. They are calling most likely in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ("FDCPA"). They are probably calling in error, and if so, they will refuse to remove incorrect information from your credit report. Also, they abuse their relationship with PHEAA and use government records illegally to threaten and intimidate student loan recipients.Stay away from AES, PHEAA, My Rich Uncle, MRU Funding, and any company that does business with AES.
I received a call various times from this number but i couldn't answer it... and they don't leave any messages.... Last time they called I got it and they hung up.,..
Called and never left a message. I'm on deferred until I graduate, why do they feel the need to call and harass me.
