I also got a call from this number. I checked my paper work and the real AES number would of been 2354 at the end. Not 1500. And whenever I would call, it would take me back to my call screen. It never even dials. I normally dont check phone numbers cause they will call back but something just told me check online and I found this. And my grandfather gave out information about himself so I am lucky to have seen this and went with my gut to check this number out.
I received a call from this number claiming that they had a returned piece of mail and that they had to verify my information, when I asked what address they had on file for me it wasn't even close. However, when I called AES customer service it turns out that the call was legit, did originate from AES and had nothing to do with collections. An AES customer service supervisor was able to confirm right down to the exact time the call was placed by their outgoing call center. AES customer service 1-800-233-0557.
Got a call from 717-720-1500. Never leave a message and when I called back no one answers. If it is from AES, I am not late on anything so I wouldn't know why they would be calling me. Maybe they are trying to collect money to pay off there fraud case that is pending against them. Stay away from PHEAA and AES if at all possible, it is gettging ugly.
Got a call today around 6pm EST. Did not leave a message. Same story...I googled the number and ended up here.
I just recieved a call from this number on my cell. I answered and there was no reply but when I called back I was disconnected. I then called from my work number and I got a voicemail... stating to be "Nicole"well I Saw this website and noticed the number's association with AES... which I do have some business with, I called AES and inquired about why I would be recieving this call, and they told me that it was suppose to be an automated message to remind me of payment... When I told her what had happened when I tried to recieve the call, she stated that she didn't know why it was like that and that they had been recieving calls from other customers with concerns about that number...
This number calls on a regular basis. The caller ID displays Unavailable in place of a name and the phone number 1-717-720-1500. They sometimes ask for my stepson who has moved out a long time ago. Other times they don't say anything and they won't leave a message. We once gave them my stepsons new phone number. They called him and had knowledge of his current student loans. They called a few time trying to make him consolidate his loans. They were told "NO"! Now they are calling my number again and will not say anything when we answer and will not leave a message. Its just Harassment.
I received a call from this number today (no message) and have NO loans with ANYone, but I did notice a poster state they call cell phone numbers and that is where I received mine, tho I've had my number for five years now. They must really be outdated on their people.
It is AES, they sometimes do leave voicemails but you have to listen to almost a full minute of silence before it starts. Yeah I'm a little behind on my loan but I can't make money appear out of thin air so they will get paid whenever I can. I see no reason to answer the calls because they just try to pressure you with aggressive behavior to make a payment even if you try to tell them it's just going to have to be late. I'm sure they'll get over it. On the bright side though I almost have it paid off.
Does anyone know if AES has any recourse against foreigners (example Canada, UK, etc.) for loans taken out in USA but student no longer lives there? Would bad credit be reported to foreign jurisdictions?
Yes - I'm behind on my payments and yes I updated the website as well as planned payments to get me caught up. But the phone calls are very ignorant. You can fill out information and keep them updated - doesn't matter. You still get calls because they can't read their own paperwork. I honestly think it's because they want to keep you on edge so don't fall for it. If you are doing your due diligence, then ignore the calls, seriously. Your so called 'precious' credit report will heal; don't get upset with those kinds of harrassing statements. Now - I'm under the impression that AES is a government supported entity and with companies like that, you will deal with people who are not motivated or as intelligent. Don't fall to their level and retaliate - just walk away. Again - due diligence. If you are doing your part, there is no need to waste your time with an unnecessary call.
