The number is legit people, they only ask verification questions if 1) there are risk factors on account or 2)you want them to make changes to the account: add phone #, add user, etc.FIA Card Services (owned by Bank of America)

I had a message on my home phone to call 1-800-427-2449; caller ID listed the number as 1-678-797-7000 "Georgia". So, I called the number on the back of my card; the operator verified that "YES" the 1-800-427-2449 was from Bank of America about charges on my card. She offered to transfer me to the number, but the call had dropped in transfer. I feel safer calling the card number back for a transfer. Why don't they instruct you to call the "Back of card" number? Who would risk calling an "Unknown" number about their financial accounts?

I called them after getting a text alerting me to some curious transactions. Number was in the text. Bank of America Fraud line. It's legit. Got uncomfortable myself handing out card and personal info. They are good with if you get uncomfortable with it, they have alternate means to perform verification.

received a phone call from 1-800-427-2449. I do not reply to phone numbers that I do not know. several people claim it's from Bank of America, why if true they are calling me, I have never had any dealing with them. If this is a true call send something on your letter head and let me know what you want??????????

You people are too dam paranoid! chances are you dont realize u have a bank of america card but u might. and if ever you do not feel comfortable with the call call the number on tht back of your card and ask them to connect you to the fraud department and dont be a rude son of a [***] either

This is a big scam. The first thing they ask for is your social. I have never had a Bank of America account of any kind. I told them that and they keep asking for my social. Do not give them any info. Go to a Bank of America branch and ask them directly.

Because in certain situations they cannot afford for you to waste our and your time by waiting to contact us back, you account could thousands of dollars in fraud within seconds

I received an answering machine call from this number today. The recorded message was very bland and lacked detail - which made me suspicious. Instead of calling the number left on the answering machine (8004272449) I called the number on the back of my Credit Card (8004212110). After the normal BofA security checks, I explained to the service rep why I was calling and asked if the number (800427244) was a ligit BofA number. He confirmed it was and it is from the BofA CC Services Security dept. TA BofA computer had called because it noted some strange activity on my card. It had to do with charging 0.87 cents worth of gas - and then immediately charging another $45 two minutes later from the same gas pump / station. The charge was legit because I accidently bumped the pump lever just after I started filling my tank - and turned the pump off at 0.87 cents. I then rescanned my card and completed my fill-up! A ligitimate error on my part.Kudoos to the BofA computer picking up on the error and calling me to warn of a potential fraudulent activity! --Ah, but big brother is watching us all! --
