Called today saying that they are calling on behalf of visa and mastercard member services to lower my interest rate due to my stellar payment history. He said give me the exp date to the card that I hold the largest balance on and he will pull up my records. I obliged, what harm is an exp date? I then asked him "So, what can you do for me?" He then proceeded to tell me he needed my credit card number. I asked him "since you are legit why don't you verify my number to me?" he was annoyed! Lol, I am positive this is a scam!!!
This number belongs to First National Bank of Omaha it's Cap One one of their online nerchant clients along with about 20 others
I ALSO RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER....DIDN'T LEAVE A MESSAGE. AS I AM READING THROUGH THE COMMENTS THAT THIS NUMBER BELONGS TO CAPITAL ONE, I FOUND A CAPITAL ONE CREDIT CARD ADVERTISEMENT AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS FORM....REALLY?
This is not Capital One. It is a adhoc credit repair agency trying to lower interest rates on all credit cards. They just happened to have enough of one of my card's information to sound convincing. Once I realized who they were, I ordered a replacement card due to fraud and hung up the phone.
