This is Capital One Auto Finance. They always leave a message and are willing to work with you if you are having a problem paying your car payment. If you ignore them too long it will go to collections who will try to keep you in your car if it is possible. They will get their money or your car if you default. Best bet is to answer the call or call them back. They worked out a plan with me and I got caught up.
BEWARE! Scammers can spoof caller ID to ANY number they wish. This call was most likely an IMPOSTER phishing for personal info. When in doubt hang up and call the business DIRECTLY.
I can not speak for anyone else's experience, but for me, this call came from Capital One Auto Finance. I had refinanced my car with them online the day before and this call was to do a conference call between me, Capital One and my current lender (EEOC). They needed my current pay off amount and to confirm that the loan was current. They also needed the correct address of the current lender in order to send the payoff balance. My balance actually turned out to be smaller and my new payment even lower. For me, this was a good call. Thanks everyone for responding, I rely on this site to find out about suspicious numbers and most of the time I find out it is not someone I want to speak to. In this case, it just happened to be someone I did.
This Is Most Definitely Capital One!!!!! And they are trying to scam people by those illegal calls stating: Hi this is Rachel from card services.
THIS IS NOT SPAM.This should be corrected in your system.I avoided the call because the caller id referred to this number as spam.THIS IS NOT SPAMThis number is the Capital One's fraud department. They called me regarding unusual transactions on my account.I am glad they called.
Um yeah, I got a text from this number that said "I'm on my way." I don't think Capital One is texting to tell me they're coming over. Be careful of numbers you don't know and when in doubt call the number on your card or loan statement.
called my work number- message asks about lowering my credit card and to press #1- I did so because I knew it was a scam number. A male with a heavy accent came on the line. I asked what he wanted- he said well you said you wanted to lower your credit card rate. I asked him who I was, since they had called me. He said..ahhhhhhhhhhhh "jennifer"- I said wow, Jennifer who? He replied "jennifer james"- I then told him that sounded like a made up name to me and the least he could do was to come up with something better than that. He then continued to call me back on another number and left very obscene messages on my voice mail. While this number may be associated with a banking company they are not making these calls- the first number he called from is associated with Chase- the voice messages are associated with another banking company. Beware
(800) 903-3637 appears to be a scam, capital one did not recognize the number and said they would never ask the kind of information they claimed to be a 3rd party and capital one is aware of it and is suspicious saying they would never ask the infothey were asking...hang up and don't give any information..they also called form (319) 225-2094
If this number legitimately belongs to Capitol 1, then they need to prosecute the scammers who have stolen this number. The call starts out with an American sounding female recording saying this is my FINAL notice and they've made several attempts to reach me about lowering credit card interest rates. I receive calls like this from various numbers on a daily basis and sadly there is no such thing with them as FINAL because they keep calling. I block the numbers one by one as the calls come in, but there are an infinite number of phone numbers at their disposal. For fun, I pressed 1 as directed, and of course, got the live Indian guy. Same scam, different day.
