My husband got a call last night and then I got a called this morning. Sounded like a scam to us too. We Hugh up and blocked the number. How dumb to they think people are?

It has nothing to do with Best Buy, and your computer is not hacked, nor is it sending information to anyone. They are not calling you because of your computer, or because any legitimate business gave them the number. Its a scam - MOST people have computers. They assume you have a computer, have windows, are afraid of getting viruses, and will fall for it. I once had them 'walk me through' their repair process, and they were telling me they could see my computer, my Internet Explorer is corrupt, etc. It was a lie - my computer was off, I don't use windows, etc.It seems there are alot of people here that are very, very scared of losing their information. As a security professional, I think that is great. Think it through, and realize that they are just fishing for any info they can sucker out of you.

this is a fradulet call. They claim to be from a variety of companies and try to social engineer you to try and get any information that they can. That information is put in a database and sold so that the next caller can better target the victim by sounding more convincing. Dont talk to these people and DO NOT CALL THEM BACK. Once they know that you will call back a number your number is put into a different database and sold to entities that charge you you to call them. The scam is they robo call you knowing you will not pick up... but you are charged when you call their number and they pick up (usually nothing on the line, just silence). Your phone bill will see a flat fee charged to it.This number is one of those scams.

The caller said they were tech support. Jokingly my boyfriend asked "are you ISIS?" the caller answered "yes. And we are coming for you soon. I'm going to shoot you down in the head." I am feared out.

Received a phone call from this number today telling me that my computer was infected with a malicious software. The woman who called me connected me with Senior Technician 'Dave' of Duke Support. I told them I am on my work station that is monitored by our in-house IT/Security Department and told them to never call me again. I also told them that I know they are scammers, and I intend to report them.

Lying claiming to be geek squad

I just had the same experience. I kept saying who are you and why are you calling. He kept repeating Geek Squad and I said I don't believe you. I am hanging up now because you are trying to scam me. He hung up first. When I tried to call back, number was disconnected.

Same line, Geek squad calling because I was having computer trouble. I asked how he knew that, had he hacked my computer? Hung up as he stried to explain he had not hacked nor said that he had- accent was probably East Indian.

said he was with geek squad or something. said my computer has some security issues. when he started to say my computer was sending a message i said "that my windows computer has a virus.". i told him he didnt know who he was talking to and my computer is fine. i am an IT guy, i am taking Cisco classes and about to start a job as a network tech. my computer is fine. do not listen to these peoples lies.

Same as the others I do not answer thy Leave no message. But I have been called 15 times or more and even on week ends. Some annoying scam. But only 1 of many scam callers
